And secondly, I motivated from my professor’s whom that I have been working and interacting for the last few years. Name of project/’s BRAHMATWINN : Twinning European and South Asian River basins to enhance capacity and implement adaptive integrated water resources management approaches

Client Coordinated by Friedrich-Schiller University, Jena, Germany and co-funded by European Commission
Main project features A holistic case study will be carried out in two twinning macro-scale basins:
(1) the Upper Danube River Basin (UDRB) in Europe, and (2) Upper Brahmaputra River Basin (UBRB) in Southeast Asia.
The overall objective of BRAHMATWINN is to enhance and improve capacity to carry out a harmonised integrated water resources management (IWRM) approach as addressed by the European Water Initiative in headwater river systems of alpine mountain massifs in respect to impacts from likely climate change, and to transfer professional IWRM expertise, approaches and tools based on case studies carried out in twinning European and Asian river basins.

Main project features The major objective of the emGIS is ‘Capacity Building in Environmental Management with Geographic Information Science’ in the 3 Asian countries such as Bhutan, Bangladesh and Nepal.
This will be achieved through 3 main processes:
1) Organising courses at Asian partner institution for mid-level professionals and university level students;
2) Facilitating short stay of the professionals from the Asian partner institution at the European partner institutions;
3) Initiating eLearning system at the Asian partner institution for sustainable and wider utilisation of the project resources beyond the project period.
