Working for BUNDUK OIL CO. LTD. on offshore platform.
From 4th August 2006 To till Date
Telecommunication Technician

Duties & Responsibilities
Working on offshore platform and responsible for-

1) Repair and maintenance of VHF handheld Radios Model STANDARD HX-341, HX-370, HX-380 & HX-381, VHF AM Radios YAESU Aviator pro, FURUNO FM-8500 Radiotelephone, JOTRON VHF GMDSS Radios, Base Stations ICOM IC-M80.
2) Programming the radios through standard programming software and its interface.
3) Repair and maintenance of single slot battery chargers for HX-370 (CD-26), for HX-341 (STANDARD CSA 101), for HX-381 (MC I a), for GMDSS radio (TCH-12), and six slot battery chargers for HX-341 and HX-381.
4) Repair and maintenance of Life Boat intercom system VINGTOR Brand.
5) Repair and maintenance of Radio Beacon Transmitter NAUTEL ND-500 II & Beacon Monitor Receiver NAUTEL NRB4
6) Handling all EPBX related tasks. EPBX System SONY ERICSON consono MD 110 with 20 input lines and 200 extensions.
7) Preparing the monthly outgoing call reports.
8) Keeping all payphones and extension phones functional.
9) Repair and maintenance of Public Addressing System MILBANK Brand, two racks with 8 amplifiers in each rack with surveillance cards
10) Repair and maintenance of Audio Entertainment system MILBANK brand with 4 amplifiers.
11) Distribution of CATV channels using different types of satellite receivers like ECHOSTAR, NOKIA, NEOSAT, EUROVISION etc. with Modulator POLYRTRON SPM1000 plus with CATV Amplifier HV40126N-PG11. Keeping the cable network trouble free.
12) Preparation of material requisition and planning the radio licenses renewals.
13) Coordination with ETISALAT in troubleshooting of microwave link NEC brand Model NAR651and ISDN network.
14) Updating of drawings, records and other documents related to the telecommunication network.
15) Coordination with vendors on technical issues.
16) Managing adequate test equipments and spares on site.
17) Providing assistance to IT department in troubleshooting of LAN network & WiLAN modems.
18) Providing daily/monthly project progress reports and updates to Field superintendent.

The repair and maintenance of hand held and base stations are carried out by using MARCONI RADIO COMMUNICATION TEST SET 2955B and Watt meter BIRD model 43 and frequency counter FLUK 8050A.

Duties & Responsibilities
1) Installation & maintenance of Fire alarm & CCTV equipments
2) Configuration & testing of Fire alarm & CCTV equipments
3) Installation and maintenance of VHF/UHF Repeaters at various projects.
4) Programming the repeaters Base stations & hand held radios according to assigned frequency and Power.
5) Installation of Base Stations.
6) Chip level repair of Repeaters, Base Stations, Hand held Radios, Power Supplies & ANI Decoders.
7) Programming of ANI Decoders.
8) Setting all technical parameters of repeater like, modulation, sensitivity, timeout delay, tail timer and power.
9) Checking sensitivity of duplexer.
10) Repair of Radio Chargers.
11) Repair and installations of power supplies up to 40 Amperes.

Wireless Communication Technician

Duties & Responsibilities

1) Repair and maintenance of Repeaters (Standard RPT-30, 180 Watts). Repair of repeater includes the calibration of duplexer according to Tx and Rx frequencies. Repair of driver cards, final amplifier cards, Rx module, and Tx modules. Adjusting sensitivity of Rx module, adjusting of tail timer and timer out timer of Tx module, adjustment of squelch control according to sensitivity.
2) Repair of Base Stations (Standard GX-1500) and Hand held radios (Standard HX-340, HX-341, HX-440 and HX-441). Repair of microprocessor card, EPROM stage, pre-amplifier and final amplifier stage, Tuning of frequency deviation, power, sensitivity and VCO.
3) Programming the hand held and mobile radio (i.e. TX frequency, Rx frequency, Tx tone, Rx tone, Tx timeout timer, Tx inhibit timer, busy lockout, emergency channel, Tx low power, battery save timer, CTCSS reverse burst and ANI), using computer and its standard interface.
4) Repair and maintenance of ANI Decoders (ST-822) and as well configuring the ANI Decoders according to its compatible data and programming the ANI Encoders (ST-804 & ST-804) using computer and its interface.
5) Repair of 50Amp, 13.8Vdc power supplies (Astron). This power supply is used with repeaters. And repair of 10Amp, 13.8 Vdc power supplies that are used with base stations.
6) Repair of six slot and single slot battery chargers.
7) Knowledge of calibration of frequency, frequency deviation, ctcss parameters, ANI codes, sensitivity of radio sets, power and reflection power of radios and repeaters using service monitor IFR-1500.
8) Supervising telephone technicians to keep trouble free PABX telephone system (Model: NEC-2400) of 230 extension lines, 10 PTT input lines.

Duties and Responsibilities
I worked with WOOD GROUP Company who had maintenance contracts with KUWAIT OIL COMPANY (KOC) & KUWAIT SHIBUILDING & REPAIR YARD COMPANY. In this project I worked most my work in KOC at its oil gathering centers i.e. GC-2 & GC-22. In KOC I worked mainly in loop checking of instruments and as well as calibrations of instruments.
In the end of the project I worked in KSRC in installation of Radar Scanners, Radar Display Unit, Navigators, Echo Sounders, VHF Transceivers, Wind direction Meters, Wind Speed Meters and gyrocompass.
