It should be noted that this position was to be converted to 0083 Lead Police Officer when I accepted it. It should be in the works to be converted at this time. Serve as Armed Lead Police Officer with full powers of arrest. Overall responsibility to maintain law and order and protect life, property, and civil rights of individuals through the enforcement of the full range of Federal, State, and local laws, ordinance, rules and regulations and the U.C.M.J. Responsible for leading in the investigation, apprehension, and detention of persons or groups suspected or convicted of offenses against criminal laws of the United States. Work as a shift leader coordinating the activities of assigned Security Guard and Police Officers. Engage in traffic control and serve as a deterrent to crime by being present in the area and through observation, inspection, and investigation. Making traffic stops and issuing citations 1805, and 1408. Also serve as the Desk Sergeant/Dispatcher responsible for the day to day operation of the assigned shift. Dispatch officers to investigate complaints and assist in emergencies and accidents. Other duties include: assigning equipment and secure items to outgoing shift. Monitor radio traffic and patrol activities. 911 Emergency Operator. monitor electronic fire alarm system and County Fire Dispatch and dispatch and coordinate emergency and Fire Department personnel and equipment as needed. Monitor Intrusion Detection Systems and dispatch patrols to alarms. monitor video surveillance equipment. Issue and accountability of secure keys and secure items. Perform all Blotter and Journal entries and disseminate to appropriate personnel. Utilize the Centralized Operation Police Suite (COPS) and the California Law Enforcement Telecommunication System (CLETS). Also serve as Watch Commander. Responsible for all Law Enforcement/Physical Security activities during the assigned tour of duty, conduct on-the-job and roll-call training, quiz officers on post to insure familiarity and knowledge of their assigned post, act as time keeper, inspect each post once a shift, participate in regularly scheduled weapons qualifications training and training of new personnel. Department Training Officer, responsible for conducting New Hire in house Law Enforcement Training Programs and shift annual training requirements. Upon being posted I checked the vehicles for body and equipment damage, oil and water levels. Made reports on any discrepancies. Checked the reactionary force facilities for accountability of organic weapons, and the care and cleaning of interior spaces. Hold guard class for the reactionary forces, assign weapons and equipment. Monitor the radios and control or dispatch the posted guards to carry out duties or operations as necessary to fulfill the movement and storage of weapons and equipment as directed by the Naval Ordinance Command. Oversee the effective operations of the posted guard. Check the overall security of the fence lines, gates, bunkers, mobile and walking posts. Post and relieve the shift every 4 hours for a 24 hour period. Responsible for the timely response to security threats using the reactionary forces, placement of team members, clearing fields of fire, and lanes of fire. Make reports of the situation to the chain of command. During night time procedures and the time for challenging, proceed to all suspicious person and vehicle calls for further identification, and or transporting subjects to the proper authorities. Kept all log books up to date, filled out activity reports and reported the shift activity to the Guard Officer. I was responsible for the knowledge and training of the guard force and reactionary forces. Special attention was paid to learning and understanding; the use of deadly force, justification of deadly force, and operating procedures.
