2004 – To date: Lead Engineer, KBR, PFI MOD Project
Currently working for KBR as a Lead Engineer for Telecoms & Info Systems on MOD PFI Allenby Connaught project currently valued at £8bn. Responsible for the team management and delivery of front end engineering design, procurement and sub-contractors award. of passive telecoms networks both internal and external for military sites. Involve authoring of specifications, scope of works and basis of design. Asses, Review and conduct risk evaluations on contractor bid submissions. Manage Telecoms design, technical implementation and ensure client requirements and service level agreements are met. Audit project programmes for design, tender, award, installation and commissioning. Manage and administrate telecoms team to ensure both project performance and career progression is maintained.
2002 – 2004: Principal Telecoms & Info Systems Engineer, KBR, Oil & Gas Project
KBR Oil and Gas division - Azeri Project in Caspian Sea – onshore facilities, 5 off shore hydrocarbon and gas platforms. Responsible for the design and delivery of sub sea FOC non-repeated onshore to offshore main link (204km), security systems/monitoring/alarm, various CCTV, PA, telephony, data networks. Project management of sub-contractors and various design houses, authoring of specifications, scope of works, philosophies on both project and contractor tenders. Mark, Review and conduct risk evaluations on contractor bid submissions. Manage Telecoms sub-contractors design, technical implementation and ensure client requirements and service level agreements are met.
2000 – 2002: Consultant Radio Planning/Coverage and Transmission Planner, Vodafone, O2
Project planning turnkey process and working project tracking databases, designing and implementation of network Roll Out and Radio Planning Processes within client Milestones billing guidelines. Responsible for carrying out detailed Radio Coverage reports for both live and future Turnkey sites, assessment of revenue loss for existing and proposed future sites. Conducting site visits and surveys for existing and future BTS/Node B sites and assessing backhaul issues by utilising either Line of Sight or Fibre links. Conducting Line of Sight surveys, solving and identifying transmission capacity issues. Communications trainer to all from initial entry level through to management, providing training for surveying of Microwave Line of Sight Transmission Links to personnel. Diagnose and rectify equipment and network faults using both built in test equipment and faultfinding techniques. Compiling and issuing detailed communication instructions to cover a wide spectrum of contingencies, managing teams in both fixed and mobile communication networks. Responsible for providing and maintaining up to 12 UHF/SHF Microwave direct line of sight bearer links for the Army’s wide area networks and access links for remote static and mobile users.
