CV summary - over 22 years of shipping experience, out of each 12 years at sea as mate and Master and 10 years ashore as Manager in ship management company, maritime Administration and offshore industry. In addition of extensive maritime knowledge and experience I am also qualified as a Maritime / ISO Lead Auditor and as Maritime Surveyor.

I am able to work and take decisions on my own as well as part of a team, I am used to work in a multinational environment and I have a constructive approach to all job related matters, including emergency or stressful situations.

1984 – 1994 - sailing as deck officer and Chief Mate, gaining practical ship and
cargo handling experience on board bulk-carriers, chemical and oil/product
tankers;

1994 – 2001 - Master on board seagoing tankers of 30000 Dwt up to 165000 Dwt. During shore leave, working also as operation manager with a Romanian ship-management company, enhancing my knowledge in shipping operations with the shore-based operational aspects, including commercial, technical and human resources management.
Providing ship assistance during port operations as Port Captain, attending Oil Majors inspections, ISM audits, Class inspections.


2001 – 2004 Head of Romanian Maritime Administration, including Romanian ship
registry, Romanian Harbour Master offices, gaining further experience in the regulatory requirements and statutory certification, as well as port and terminal management and international shipping bodies working procedures (IMO, EMSA, PSC);

During this period I attend various IMO/EMSA committees and meetings as Romania’s representative and I work on various international maritime projects.

2004 – 2005 General Manager of a Romanian shipmanagement company managing 10 vessels (8 tanker – 2 bulkers), having full responsibility for day-to-day management of the company, planning development of the company, monitoring performances, monitoring budget/costs, coordinating operational, technical, financial, safety and claims departments (about 35 persons).

During this period I designed and implemented an integrated management system complying with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISM, TMSA requirements.

2005 – 2006 - General Manager of a surveying and marine consultancy company based in
Romania, providing following services:
• Shipmanagement services;
• P&I surveys;
• quality, environmental and ISM audits ;
• consultancy on ship/port operations, including assistance as Port Captain when required ;
• consultancy and training for Oil Majors vetting inspection and TMSA requirements ;
• consultancy on European funding maritime projects in Romania ;
