| 6. Additional Information - CV/Resume Part 6 [Optional] |
Resume overview
I’m a Naval Architect and Marine Eng. and my professional interest focus is the design of floating system and underwater technology.
My profession deals with the theoretical and applied calculations devoted to structural and hydrodynamics analysis, computer-aided desig, marine engines systems, classification and statury rules.
I considered my self with the requirement attitude to agree with the company profile as a part of a team to share theoretical concepts and practical experience to reach the best economical, practical and innovative solutions to attend the world wide market requirements.
I was born December 23 1966 Valparaiso Chile and after my first university studies (Mech. Eng.- Naval Construction, I immigrate to Brazil looking for new horizon of knowledge, in these years (1988) Brazil was still a ship building potency in the world and I was 20 years old (see CV attached) .
At the same time with my university studies in Brazil, I take several jobs connected with naval and offshore industry. I started working in 1989 at Caneco Ship Yards Rio de Janeiro, as engineer assistant at the department of projects and structures. At this time, I learned to mitt real work with theory of design and strength materials engineering calculus, therefore I enhanced my experience with programming computing software devoted to structural calculus analysis (e.g.SAP 90).
After this first approximation to the naval industry, in 1991, I started working in the computing area of naval architectural software. On this time, I improved my knowledge of numerical and analytical analysis, numerical calculus and their programming tools.
In 1993 when I started to know about underwater technology, I decided to learn more about this area and I finished my practising period at Consub underwater technology company, Rio de Janeiro
In 1995, I started to work at PETROBRAS as a research assistant for Sao Paulo University, devoted to analyse offshore systems (Exp. Hydrodynamics properties, time domain analysis, mooring systems) and studies on special subjects matters related to this area.
After my degree and special matters courses I made a special work on this matter to PETROBRAS as a Naval Architect consultant, to develop the ISSC 2000 Comparative study-Mooring Load of a Ship Single Point Moored in a Steady Current (May Jun 2000)
In 2000 I take an international opportunity practice work experience (July 2000- July 2001), at Hitec Marine, Arendal, Norway, as a Mech. Eng. where I do Mechanical FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and SPM and hydrodynamics studies.
After that, during 2002, as consultant assistant at the Dept of Underwater Technology at the federal University of Rio de Janeiro – Brazil, performing studies on FPSO concepts design, free decay risers analysis, dynamic analysis, and upgrade courses on FEM analysis.
During 2003 and part of 2004 I perform a job as consultant for ETP Rio de Janeiro
aluminium catamarans structural analysis and dry dock structural design.
During part of 2004 to 2006 I was living in UK, engaged in telecom projects and the civil industry as self employ.
The union of my creativity with my practical experience and theoretical studies let me be a very team player person with versatility and flexibility to carry new or traditional concepts of floating system design. Resuming I wish to use my mind to think and make naval architecture.
