Lakshmi Machine Works Limited is the one of the largest Manufacturers of Entire range of Textile Machinery in the World. They are the only manufacturers manufacturing from Blow Room, Carding, Comber, Lapping, Simplex and Ring Spinning frame. From Machine Tool Division they are manufacturing Computer Numerical Control Machines for Machining and Turning Centres. These range of products having the wide market in India, Southeast Asia, Africa and South America.
Lakshmi Machine Works Implementing the ERP - Oracle 11i Business Suite in “Big Bang” from June 2002 and the Implementing partner is M/s TCS. I have involved in ERP Implementation in Plant Maintenance Module from June 2002 to October 2002.
Team Member – ERP Project (Jun 2002 – Oct 2002)
· Requirement Gathering, Analysis of requirements
· Defined CSF, KPI, and Plant OEE for “AS IS” study and “TO BE” Mapping.
· Establish standards and practices for developments that are within the guidelines.
· Monitoring and reporting, Project status to Apex Management
To implementing the ERP - Oracle 11i Business Suite, we have define Critical Success Factor, Plant Overall Equipment Effectiveness, Key Performance Indicator and to monitoring this as Performance Monitor. By obtaining CSF, KPI and Plant OEE we have done analysis for “AS IS” and “TO BE” mapping. To improve the Plant OEE and to minimize the Inventory Cost CSF can be derived.
Functional Experience
· Analysing Customer complaints (Post Sales Activity and Spares Sales)
During the lean period, we have deputed for Sales Activities to analyse the Customer complaints and to Permanently solve the Complaints. By properly analysed the Customer complaints we have rescheduled the Spares sales to customer and company.
· Implementing ISO 9001: 1994 and ISO 9001: 2000
ISO 9001: International Standards Organisation Certification from BVQI for Design, Manufacturing, Sales and Service after Sales for the entire plant. In Plant Engineering Department we are Calibrated the Machinery/Equipment for its original standards for every Quarterly or Half yearly or Yearly according to the Accuracy Level of the production.
· Active Team member for BPR and TPM implementation
TPM - Pillar Activity for Planned Maintenance
LMW is to compete with the global manufacturers, now stepping into BPR and TPM to improve the present Quality and Cost. We are the Active Team Member in TPM and BPR and Team Leader for the Shop Floor Area in the Planned Maintenance and Auditor for Autonomous Maintenance.
In Shop Floor Area we have taken two machines as Model Machines, for this machines we prepared Checklists for Cleaning, Lubrication, Inspection and Retightening and provide the training to the Machine Operator. On successful completion of this first phase we have implemented as horizontal deployment and then added to rest of the machines.
· Active Team member for JIT and Six Sigma process
We have implementing JIT for procuring Fuel from M/s Indian Oil Corporation, and later on introducing the concept to procure Fasteners from M/s Sundaram Fasteners. Our inventory cost has drastically come down.
Also I have the active member in Six Sigma to attain that level that we periodically conduct the Statistical Test in each process of the machine where the accuracy level for component detoriates.
· Evaluating and Implementing Team Leader for KAIZEN
Kaizen and 5S Technique used in our shop floor to maintain the quality and higher productivity. I am the Kaizen leader in my shop floor area for evaluate and execute the Kaizen and cost saving can be calculated depending on the type of kaizen, whether it is a one time saving or continuous process saving.
· Troubleshooting of CNC Systems
We have FANUC, SIEMENS, ALLAN-BRADLEY and HEIDENHAIN CNC Systems and SIEMENS, ALLAN-BRADLEY, FANUC range of Servo Drives in our manufacturing machines. Machining centre, Turning Centre, Grinding, Turret Punch Press and Laser Cutting Machine. We have trained in all of the Systems and Drives to rectify the problems in-house.
· Troubleshooting of Conventional Machines and SPM Machines
We have large number of Conventional machines like Lathe, Machining, Grinding, Lapping, Mechanical and Hydraulics Press brakes and Sawing machines and Special Purpose Machines, HF Hardening Machines for the production.
· Preparing Preventive Maintenance Schedule
By grouping the Machines in Quarterly, Half yearly and Yearly (QHY analysis) according to the Machine Utilisation, Ageing and Accuracy level for the Production. The Preventive Maintenance Schedule can be produced at the starting of the January every year.
· Design of customized Controls and PLC Programming
I can design and customize the existing machines and controls as per the modern production requirements and SPMs.
· Responsible for Annual Electrical Inspection
As I am holding the “Electrical Supervisor License”, I am the responsible for the Electrical Inspection and safety as per the government Statutory.
