1990 – 1995 Plant Electrician
This involved installing and commissioning of new Switch Gear H.V + L.V, Transformers, Compressors, Generators, Boilers, Fire alarm systems, Lighting circuits, 240v and 440v supplies, Motor installation, Control Panels, Forklift truck maintenance and all other aspects of plant installation and maintenance. Also responsible for the maintenance of factory based overhead cranes.

1995 – Present
Electrical / Instrumentation Installation, commissioning Technician
Responsible for the installation commissioning and maintenance of high speed filter making machines including:
Mains wiring from distribution board to machine mains switch, internal wiring including emergency stops, Programming of P.L.C’s (Omron, Siemens’) fault diagnosis and rectification, commissioning of machine and all maintenance. Also lead electrical technician for overseas work i.e. setting up new Factories and the installation of
New machines and the training of new personnel.

Electrical / Instrumentation Installation, commissioning Technician
Responsible for the installation commissioning and maintenance of high speed filter making machines including:

My experience as an Instrument Technician within Filtrona involved setting up, maintenance calibrating and monitoring control systems. These systems range from computer based systems, fibre optic camera based systems, transmitters and older shift-register systems. I was involved in fault finding and rectification within these systems I was also responsible for the set up, maintenance and fault rectification on quality test modules. This includes setting up transmitters, lasermics, weight calibrations and measuring and calibrating air pressure.
Also lead electrical technician for overseas work i.e. setting up new Factories and the installation of
New machines and the training of new personnel. A couple are listed below.



Testing and Commissioning of high voltage systems.
Testing and repairing all types of electrical and instrumentation equipment.

Experienced in open and closed loop testing.
Maintenance of fire and gas detection systems, pressure safety valves oiled filled heaters gas boilers compressors.
Responsible for the training of apprentices and new personnel.
Costing of new installation projects. Keeping records of all aspects of my work, progress, completion, problems e.t.c
Liaise with all departments ensuring continuous production during the training and installation.

I have worked as an Instrument/Electrical technician now for over 19 years and in that time i have trained many personnel up to a good standard. I have been lead Instrument/Electrician in the set up of 2 new factories outside of the uk and also the installation of many machines abroad. I believe the skills i now posses would be invaluable to any future employer.
I also have leadership abilities and a proven track record to be able to work with people from many different backgrounds.
