1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

Highly motivated, creative, and result oriented reservoir engineering specialist with around 15 years of industrial experience, diversified in all areas of Petroleum engineering. An excellent blend of operational experience, research, planning and management with several oil service and operating companies. An experience started with an oil company followed by experience with Core Labs, in rock and reservoir fluid studies (PVT studies). Hands on experience with phase behavior, miscibility and water flooding studies. This is fortified by further education and work at Colorado School Of Mines (CSM) USA, and experience with Marathon Oil Company. Additional learning focused on reservoir simulation, integrated exploration, well testing, well stimulation economical analysis and project management. Experience with Schlumberger DCS with this advanced knowledge and had and excellent training and experience on reservoir simulation using ECLIPSE office suite and cased-hole/open-hole log interpretation using Geoframe and packages of log interpretation software.
Worked for British Petroleum Pakistan as a Senior Reservoir Engineer, for another couple of years. Gathered precious experience of conventional and advanced reservoir evaluation and management techniques and workflows.
Worked for 2 years with OPI as Manager Reservoir Engineering fully involved in both exploration phase and development aspects of drilling, field development and planning. Hands on experience with almost all reservoir/petroleum engineering software in PC, Unix and Sun Solaris workstation environment.
Worked for antoher two year worked as General Manager Reservoir Exploitation and Production engineering at Dewan Petroleum Limited. Taking care of all the company operations, from exploration to drilling, well completion to well testing, data interpretation and evaluation, field development and project management and even procurement and contracts. Used Petrel and have full modeling experience right from Seismic to Geological modeling to full reservoir simulation model and then economic evaluation using PEEP. Outstanding grip on compositional simulation due to exceptional experience of working in PVT modeling and studies with Core Labs.

For last one year I am working as Vice President Reservoir and Petroleum Engineering in OPII and steering the upstream activities and the company’s direction and policy.

Investigating the upside and design of techniques to increase the productivity and the ultimate recovery. Desing of EOR and IOR techniques to recover the remaining potential in the light of the present oil prices. Implementation of the latest software, technology and training of the young engineers for using these tools. This includes simulation with Petrel and Eclipse and integrated asset modeling. Finding the realistic position of the fields and the wells.. Advising the shareholder for farming-out certain assets and farming-in in the other better opportunities. Suggesting corporate policy for investment and divestment in international opportunities.

July – 2005 - June 2007
General Manager Reservoir Exploitation and Production Engineering - DPL
Taking care of all the company operations, from exploration to drilling, well completion designing to well testing, data interpretation and evaluation, field development plan to reservoir management. Although I had simulation experience on Eclipse but this time I am enjoying simulating the reservoir on Petrel which gives an opportunity to work from seismic to geological modeling and them from reservoir simulation to PEEP. This has been very challenging but very interesting experience and I believe this is the future of reservoir exploitation.

Modeling and evaluation of production and injection wells, to optimize production and design well treatments. Interpretation and design of build-up and draw-down well tests. Worked in Reservoir Management Department at Petroleum Technology Center (PTC) Littleton initially as a Research Engineer, on contract. The project assigned was to investigate independently into the Downhole Oil and Water Management, focusing on downhole oil and water separation, reverse coning and cone suppression techniques. Comparison and analysis of all new technologies was performed. The idea of coning suppression and cone reversal is the latest technique and it is a matter of pride to be one of the few people who worked on this technology. The work was so much appreciated that the PE department at CSM awarded three credit hours for it and considered it as engineering report for the graduate thesis. Near well bore simulation was used to analyze the incremental oil and the separation efficiency of the separators.

Feb. 1996 to Dec. 1997 – Core Laboratories BV, Abudhabi, UAE.
Petroleum Engineer - Reservoir Fluid Studies
Duties included to work as a team leader for
Planning and evaluation of PVT studies including thermodynamic properties (Saturation pressure, Phase Envelope), Constant Mass Expansion, Differential Vaporization, Multiphase Separator Test and Constant Volume Depletion tests. Viscosity of oils at different pressure and temperatures, Retrograde Liquid studies, Swelling studies and Miscible Displacement in packed columns involving physical simulation techniques. Gas and oil analysis and fabrication of downhole samples, using the separator oil and gas at reservoir conditions. Study of formation water composition and tracer analysis, to investigate water encroachment. Simulation of PVT experimental results, phase behavior concepts, the lab data, using PVTSIM and COMPSIM.

Petroleum Engineer - Rock Properties Studies
Duties included going through the routine and special core analysis, data evaluation and quality control to ensure that the rock study is being performed and reported according to the company and industry standards, using SCAL and COREPACK. Data smoothening according to different sedimentational zones, and report generation. Member of a team to monitor oil, gas and produced water compositions to study the fluid flow and compositional variations within the reservoir.

Log Interpretation/ Production Analysis/Reservoir Monitoring/Management:
Interpretation and evaluation of almost all open hole and cased-hole logs used for reservoir evaluation and monitoring, including ELAN, TDT, RST. Fluid Studies:
Intensive experience and training in PVT studies including phase behavior, flash and differential liberation behavior and oil miscibility with different gases for miscible displacement. Condensate retrograde liquid buildup, gas properties and viscosity studies in two phase and three-phase environment using PVTi, PVTP and PVTPack.

Economic Analysis
Knowledge and some experience of natural resource economics in the light of environmental concerns. Investment evaluation of projects with concept of time-value of money, depreciation, after and before tax, and NPV analysis of oilfield development projects. Sensitivity studies and probabilistic analysis using PEEP and Monte Carlo simulation.

Management Skills
Experience of project management and working in a team environment. Worked as part of the teams and also as a team leader in a multinational environment. Knowledge and experience in giving presentations and training groups using effective oral and professional communication skills. Expertise on using MS Project.
