Barge Career Summary:
As a Tankerman/Barge Specialist I was responsible for carrying out the load/discharge/ballasting activities and objectives established by our corporate office. This included material control, deck maintenance and repair, emergency preparedness, equipment inspection and repair, conducting emergency drills, maintaining documented compliance with regulatory authorities, coordinating communications with facility, workboat, and corporate office, maintaining bridge watch while underway, the training of Barge personnel, and maintaining/operating vessel on location.
Barge Experience:
* Supervised and maintained equipment to minimize downtime and breakdowns
* Assured vessel was in compliance with government agencies and company policy
* Maintained safety and emergency equipment, firefighting equipment and vessel seaworthiness
* Conducted all required inspections and drills
* Handled deck logs, inventory reports and crew logs
* Ordering and receipt of supplies, spares and equipment for necessary operation
* Coordinated with workboats, facility and main office
* Insured load/discharge capacity according to SOP’s and oversaw gauging/sampling
