I AM WORKING IN ONGC SINCE 1981 AS SEISMIC DATA OBSERVER AND SEISMIC DATA PROCESSOR.

Professional Experience: Presently working as a Superintending Geophysicist in OIL and Natural Gas CORPORATION, a major oil company in India. A span of 12 years experience in 2D and 3D CDP data acquisition in sedimentary basins of India. A span of 14 years experience in 2D and 3D seismic data processing.
Potential: In-depth knowledge of advanced seismic data processing using Tensor software of PGS, Geocluster software of C.G.G and Focus/GeoDepth software of Paradigm Geophysical Services. Capable of preparing jobs, execution, monitoring and QC of the results independently.
Specialty: Expertise in doing the processing of Marine and Fold-belt data of land and subsequently PSTM and PSDM processing on 3D seismic data.
Familiarity: Capable of doing Prestack Time and Depth domain processing using GEODEPTH software of Paradigm Geophysical Services.

Professional Service, Awards and Accomplishments

1993 – date

Processed 3D seismic data from offshore and onshore areas of Western offshore basins, Cauvery basins and Assam & Assam Arakan basins of India.
The data was processed through DMO route and PSTM route depending upon the client’s requirement.
PSTM processing was carried out on marine and on land data as a normal routine process and if required for the use of AVO analysis also.
Processed/Re-processed more than 2.5 lacs Lkm of 3D/2D Marine seismic data.
Processed OBC seismic data of C-37 block of western offshore basin of India.

Presently involved in processing of 3D/2D land seismic data of fold-belt areas of Tripura, cachhar and Mizoram of India where the static’s/elevation are varying from 30m to 200m.
Engaged in processing of 2D/3D land seismic data through PSTM route.
So far several hundred Sqkm of 3D/2D land data has been independently processed and supervised.
Specialized in optimizing parameters for ground roll, handling of severe noise specially in fold-belt areas, water bottom multiple removal using Wavelet transform and Radon Transform respectively. Having an expertise in interactive velocity analysis and Processing of Q type data, land static corrections(model-based and reflection residual static). Command over Quality control at each stage.
Several 3D and 2D datasets have been re-processed as a challenging task to improve the data quality.
Having some exposure of processing of VSP data and AVO inversion

Always looks at the data in a different way than traditional way of processing which brings out improvement in the processed data quality.

Secured a position as a potential processor in the minds of ONGC interpreters.

Engaged in monitoring the quality of 2D/3D marine seismic data acquisition on board.

1992-1988 & 1986-1981

Engaged in CDP data acquisition using Explosive and Vibrator as energy source and PT-100, DFS-V, MDS-16 and SN348 as a seismograph. CDP data was acquired in Assam, Himachal and Ganga basins of India. Mainly engaged as a master observer in optimizing the filed acquisition parameters. Involved in planning of work for maximum production with quality of data.
Associated in acquiring on land 3-D seismic data in western India (Cambay Basin) using 96-channel recoding instrument (MDS-16), with explosive and vibrator as energy source with an objective to map structural and stratigraphic features.
Also conducted CDP surveys in foothills of Himalaya using land telemetry system . The seismograph used was SN348 and the energy source was dynamite.
On land 2-D seismic data acquisition was done in Northern India ( Ganga basin) using 96 channel DFS-V instrument, with an objective to map structural and stratigraphic features of basin.
Detailed experimental survey was carried out for optimization of field parameter and worked as field observer.
Enough exposure in acquiring the seismic data in the hilly terrain ,marshy land and in thick forest where logistics conditions are not favorable.
Had the experience of deputy party chief for planning and managing the filed party.

SEISMIC DATA INTERPRETATION:
Having a exposure of seismic data interpretation, mapping of seismic
horizons, stratigraphic/structural features, fault mappings synthetic seismogram well correlation, isopach map. Interpreted 2-D seismic land data of Ganga basin using paper section. Depositional model of Basin has been prepared, integrating log and seismic data.
