Over the past 16 years I have obtained a thorough working knowledge of shipping and I am now considering other opportunities in order to put my capabilities to better use and to take up challenges of a new kind. I graduated from Szczecin Merchant Marine University and obtained Master’s Degree. I possess a Master Mariner’s license and I’m currently working as a Cargo/Marine Superintendent with well known and highly established offshore company. I have a varied & extensive experience of tankers, mainly VLCC’s, and Fpso`s & Offshore disciplines.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

March 2007 – Present Cargo/Marine Superintendent
Employed by Single Buoy Moorings –Monaco on board the FPSO Mondo during conversion in Keppel Shipyard Singapore, sail – round to the field West coast of Africa- Angola Block 15.

Responsible for commissioning of marine and cargo systems, inspection/stagger tests of cargo tanks, assisting with FPSO hook-up and preparation marine and cargo systems for First Oil and Offload.

Dec 2000 – March 2007 Cargo/Marine Superintendent
Employed by Single Buoy Moorings –Monaco on board the FPSO
Kuito situated offshore off the west coast of Africa as a Cargo Superintendent promoted to Grade 2 in January 2006.

1. Responsible for preparation and executing as an Area Authority (planning, procedures, HAZOP’s, risk assessments, isolations, tanks cleaning) with Hot Work in cargo tanks on FPSO whilst in full production and normal offloading schedules met.
2. Preparation /assisting with FPSO Upgrading (SIMOP’s, pigging operations, cargo valves renewal project, preparing vessel for heavy lifting operation for new Process Modules).
3. Responsible for preparation for First Oil – stager tests/commissioning of cargo systems, inert gas system, Fiscal Oil Metering System, CALM Buoy, and Gas Turbine Driven Export Pumps.
4. Issuing the appropriate orders and instructions related to the safe marine operation, in a clear and simple manner.
5. Cooperation with client, industry organizations and authorized government agencies.
6. Ensuring that the condition of the ship is maintained to conform to the provisions of mandatory rules and regulations.
7. Operating and maintaining equipment in a manner that is safe and prevents to personnel and/or damage to the plant and equipment.
8. Monitor and maintain pollution control measures.
9. Achieving the safety targets set by the Management Office.
10. Contribute to the control of critical situations and respond to emergencies.
11. Reviewing and verifying the effective implementation of the SEP Management System on board, and identifying deficiencies and areas for improvement.

In addition to these roles and responsibilities and mentioned in 1 the Kuito has been undergoing a major program of tank repairs and upgrades during my time onboard. This has included five years of near continuous hot work within the cargo tanks whilst in full production at a rate of between 50-98,000 bbls/day.

This has been a major undertaking on this FPSO and has resulted in a number of techniques and procedures being developed to enable this project to be successful. As cargo superintendent I have had the responsibility of ensuring that offload parcel size commitments, tank availability for hot work, and structural stability requirements are met on a daily basis over the course of this project. To attain this consistently over a long period of time I have been heavily involved in both the planning and execution this project. This has been an extremely successful project to date with no lost time accidents/incidents.

During the course of this hot work project there has also been a major topsides upgrade for which the tank work was suspended. In order to successfully execute this project that involved full ballasting of the FPSO to allow for the heavy lifts. There was heavily involved during the planning phase for this work with an initial tank valve replacement campaign that saw some 48 tank valves being replaced within 2 weeks combined with a full vessel de-mucking campaign. Once the project commenced, daily involvement in the management of the subcontractors along with overseeing the weight control and the associated changes to the stability booklet and loading computer changes.

Overall the Kuito has given me a broad experience in the full range of FPSO operations that covers all aspects of probable events that would occur during the life cycle of an FPSO.

Oct 1999 – Dec 2000 Cargo/Marine Supervisor.
Employed by Single Buoy Moorings –Monaco through DML
Agency on board the FPSO Kuito situated offshore off the west coast of Africa as a Cargo Supervisor.

1. Act as area authority for all spaces under the auspices of deck department.
2. Issuing relevant work permits for all work to be done in those spaces and ensure that all regulations and codes of safe working practice are complied with at all times.
3. Calculate and monitor the vessel’s stability.
4. Supervise all cargo and ballast operations.
5. Operate the cargo and ballast control console to maintain optimum ballast condition for the prevailing environmental conditions and operations.
6. Direct the general-purpose crew and organise the programme of maintenance in areas within my jurisdiction.
7. Tank cleaning and gas freeing operations including Inert Gas operation.
8. Pre-offload CALM buoy inspection and routines maintenance as per company standards.
9. Planning maintenance activities and checks that performed correctly, timely and in an efficient manner. Reporting or recording same as directed.
10. Comply with company permit to work system, isolation standards.

Feb 1992 – Oct 1999
Employed by BP Shipping LTD on board tankers: VLCC (Very Large Crude
Carriers), MCC (Medium Crude Carriers) and Product Tankers as a Third and Second Officer/Safety Officer.

Assisting in all cargo operations including bridge and port watches, attending to safety equipment, voyage planning, chart, and publication corrections. Acting as Ship Safety Officer, area inspections, executing company Safety Meetings on board and implementation/monitoring of good safety culture as per company regulations.

Dec 1990 – Feb 1992
Employed by Barber Ship Management on Very Large Crude carriers as a Deck Cadet and Third Officer.
Assisting in all cargo operations, bridge and port watches, and attending safety equipment.
