Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing in response to your advertisement for a Regional Sales Manager in Algeria. I enclose my CV for your consideration.

I understand your company is considering seriously the Algerian Market with its complexity. I am convinced that I can contribute considerably to your plans to expand, through my experience and knowledge of this Market as I have been a working with key people from different organisations of Sonatrach, the National Oil Company for the last fifteen years including partners of Sonatrach such as BP, Anadarko, Agip, First Calagry Petroleum,
Burlington, Repsol, Cepsa, etc... I also have a good assessment of the present competition local and international with their strengths and weaknesses.

I know that a Sales Manager needs to be flexible, able to produce quality work to tight deadlines and to get results under pressure. These are qualities that my experience shows I possess.

As for my availability, I can start after one month following an agreement. I will be available to work six days a week, knowing that the weekend in Algeria is Thursday/Friday, to maximise communications with both clients in Algiers and home office in Europe.
I live in Algiers and have no restrictions to travel within Algeria or abroad and certainly do not require security arrangements to travel. I own and live in a house in Algiers and own a car and have no need for additional and unnecessary hotel/car costs. These are important issues to be considered with regard to the amount of travel/visits required for a Sales Manager position and certainly a rotation based assignment would be inappropriate.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]


Twenty six (26) years experience in the onshore oil and gas, petrochemical, refinery industry and research. Worked intensively for the last fifteen (15) years in oil and gas projects with both international and Algerian exposure during different phases of project life from acquisition to execution including, feasibility studies, conceptual design, preliminary engineering, detailed design and EPC. I hold excellent knowledge of Algerian and international working environments, project requirements with great experience in management through projects in Gas/Oil separation, condensate and LPG recovery, refining, gas compression, oil stabilisation pipeline and infrastructure.

Familiar with the international requirements of business development through my knowledge of processes for sales from defining a prospect to booking the sale.

Over the years, I have come to work in integrated international teams including client management and highly qualified people and I have always effectively communicated across cultural and technical boundaries.

Summary of Experience

Business Development Manager responsible for planning, organising and implementing acquisitions (from Pre Qualification to Invitation to Tender) within company. Duties also include collating all relevant customer information: contact details, records of meetings and discussions, press releases, prospects, and competitor activity and performance.

Vice President Sales responsible for all business acquisitions and development in Oil & Gas, Infrastructure and IT and client communication to ensure project satisfaction.

Director Sales during three (3) years with primary responsibility for identifying and pursuing prospects in Oil & Gas including critical aspects of the pursuit, bid decision, sales strategies and pricing. Representing the company in most O&G exhibition events in-country and overseas.

Two (2) years as Project Controls Director responsible for developing and implementing project control services systems, processes and procedures, resource management, personnel development and training of project controls personnel.

Three (3) years Engineering Director responsible for the performance management, recruitment, selection optimal utilization of engineering resources in projects.

Experience as Operations Manager with an oversight of all projects with support for a successful execution.

Proposal Manager responsible for the proposal plan, proposal budget, the overall execution and content of the proposal, operations cost estimate the overall risk memo, contingency recommendations. Have worked in-country as well as overseas with partners to prepare and deliver proposals for small to large projects. Also exposed to bid clarification and contract negotiations.

Project Manager in initial phases of two major O&G projects. These two projects have since progressed into EPC and executed successfully.

Senior Process Engineer in early years of a newly created Engineering Company in Algeria with the introduction of the first engineering tools and training a group of process engineers for basic design calculation and use of process simulation program.

Overseas experience includes countries such as: USA (Houston), Canada (Calgary), Mexico, UK, Italy (Milan), Netherlands, Belgium, France, Greece, Tunisia, Morocco, Libya.

Fluently speaks, reads, and writes three languages: French, English and Arabic.

Plan, organise and implement acquisitions (from Pre Qualification to Invitation to Tender) within company.
Understand customer organisation: tendering, procurement, contracting, project management and asset management.

Regularly visit new and existing customers in order to build/maintain relationships.

1992 to April 2007 Brown & Root – Condor (BRC)
A Joint Venture company established in Algeria in January 1992 as an EPC contractor in the hydrocarbon and infrastructure sectors. Shareholders include Sonatrach, the Algerian National Oil Company, Kellogg Brown Root (KBR) a subsidiary of Halliburton and Centre de Recherche Nucleaire de Draria (CRND), an Algerian research institution.

2005 to April 2007 Vice President Sales

Responsibilities for all business acquisitions and development in Oil & Gas, Infrastructure and IT working closely with all parts of the organization to attain alignment of the Company with the sales win strategy. Sales is responsible for leading the sales process, from defining a prospect, through preparing our offer, negotiating and closing the contract, and booking the sale. Responsible for maintaining client relations throughout the life of, and following completion of a project.

Duties also included the implementation of the sales processes and interfaces with other parts of the organization. These tools are identical to those practiced at Kellogg Brown Root (KBR) as many prospect are jointly pursued.

Responsible for storage area and export pipelines (gas, LPG, condensate) in the TFT gas field development project during the FEED stage of the project. Project was later awarded to KBR-BRC on EPC lump sum basis and successfully executed.

1993 Process Engineer

TFT Gas field development, conceptual design phase in a joint effort with KBR in London offices.

1992 Process Engineer

Rhourde Nouss phase B. Joint proposal with SNC Lavalin for the LPG recovery in Sonatrach’s existing gas treatment facilities. Proposal preparation in SNC Lavalin Calgary offices.

1992 Process Engineer

Fully involved in the creation of BRC through demonstrating the utility and the requirements of process simulation tools to Sonatrach ENC management. Introduced simulation tools to Algeria, Aspen+ by Aspen Technology Inc., a software developed for process plant models including thermodynamic equilibriums.
