I am presently employed with Hyder Consulting Middle East Ltd., a multi-discipline multinational engineering consultant as Lead Document Controller as of May 2006 to present.

As for my working experience, I was employed by SNC Lavalin Gulf Contractors, EPC subsidiary of SNC-Lavalin Group, Inc. headquartered in Canada in Abu Dhabi, UAE as Document Controller assigned to Tabreed–6 District Cooling Plant Project in Zayed Military City as of February 2005 to May 2006 in a 14 month finished contract.

I was employed for 1 ½ year contract with DAELIM Engineers & Contractors a leading worldwide consultancy group to the Oil and Gas Construction Industry being their Document Controller for SABIC Petrokemya Olefins III Expansion project in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. I have also joined as a Document Controller cum Admin Assistant with Professional Electronics Consultant in Dubai for two years where I have experienced by assisting, managing and developing the Document Management and Administration function.

Lead Document Controller (Projects)

 Duties are to implement all processes and aspects of document and data management utilizing EDMS systems Aconex, Oasys Columbus & SharePoint. Assigned as DMS Administrator, other responsibilities are to train staff in all document management processes, provide user name & access to new project members and providing full support at all times.
 Assists with establishing Quality Documentation for ISO 9002. Interfaces and liaisons between the Facilities Operations section and the corporate Documents and Standards section.
 Prepare and issue procedures on the numbering and control of both internal and external design and vendor documents as per contractual conditions and in line with existing Client guidelines and Design and Engineering Practices.
 Establish a project filing index for both hard copy and electronic media of engineering documents stored by the project, and establish a similar index for the filing of project correspondence. Ensure that all received electronic media are added to the correct folders maintained within the project Document Management System (DMS), ACONEX, Oasys Columbus.
 Responsible for issuing transmittals catering for the generation of both internal and external with appropriate attribution applied to both according to project distribution matrix.

 Responsible for implementing Web-based Electronic Document Management System (PM+). Maintain the document register with information received from clients for approval with or without comments.
 Receive, register and distribute all engineering subcontractor drawings and specifications, vendor, technical, administrative and reference documents, as per agreed distribution matrix.
 Maintain and safe keep original documents keeping all superseded revisions and keep a log for the distribution and status of the project files.
 Maintenance and implementation of the Company Document policies and procedures to fully cover the system’s management process (production, numbering, distribution, storage and retention).
 Provide hardcopies and softcopies of documentation to project engineers. Provide scanning capabilities and drawing conversions to readable electronic Acrobat Reader (PDF) files.
 Coordinate all activities related to the Document Control Procedure including technical documents, Request for Information (RFI), Shop Drawings and As-builts, Requests for Inspection Works (RIW), Site Instruction (SI), Field Work Instructions (FWI) Incoming/outgoing correspondences (letter, faxes, e-mail, memos…etc), Method Statements (MS), Non-Compliance Report (NCR), Project Quality Plan, Standard, codes. Certificate, Vendor Data Books, Minutes of Meeting and commercial correspondence.
