Duties and Responsibilities:
This was a full start up dealership for me; I was involved with the total construction planning ,implementation of all equipment and parts, hiring of all aftersales staff, and opening and running the aftersales business. After opening the business I had to implement HSE, 1SO,COSHH risk assessment, and also run in line with the standards that Volkswagens require globally.
Day to day of running a aftersales department, full budget control of service and parts, daily accounts report to the directors, weekly meetings with management and staff. Staff under my control, Foreman, 9 petrol service technicians, 3 heavy diesel technicians, 3 parts staff, 4 receptionists, 3 clerical staff.
Inchcape Motor Group (Volkswagen) (Nov 2002 to Jan 2004)
Position Held: General Aftersales Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
I was headhunted for this position by my former director., this was a senior managerial position running five aftersales departments with total control of one hundred and twenty five staff covering an area from central England to the south west coast , Full responsibility for the total running and budget control of the aftersales departments reporting to the director on a daily basis. On a rotation I would spend two to three days at each dealership ensuring that the daily budgets are in line with the yearly set budget, ensure that the brand directives are implemented and up to date, meet with senior staff to discuss customer and staffing issues, check all HSE,COSHH documentation. Attend monthly directors meetings to report on all of the above.

Duties and responsibilities:
I gained this position through internal promotion from a foreman supervisory role This was an exciting move within the group as it gave me an opportunity to manage more than one aftersales service departments
Full responsibility of four aftersales departments within close proximity of each other based in East Anglia. Full budget control for all four departments and monthly meetings with the board of directors to ensure that we are in line with the year end set budget Weekly meetings with all staff to discuss all activity within the aftersales department including health and safety and COSHH. Full responsibility of all service operations within the dealership. To ensure all mechanical operations are carried out to customer requirements. Oversee the preparation of ten thousand new vehicles annually for our fleet customers. Ensure ISO and COSHH risk assessment documentation reports are up to date and new standards are in place.
