To Whom It May Concern:
I am very interested in applying for a Mechanical position within your company. I am a time served Mechanical Engineering Technician with relevant experience in the Chemical industry. At the moment I am working for Sabic at their North Tees Site based in Teesside.
I want to expand my knowledge and experience by working on an offshore platform or abroad.
I am a hard working and punctual person who is well aware of all safety aspects that come with the job and try to succeed in everything I do.
I have enclosed a CV along with this cover note showing my experience and qualifications and look forward to hearing from you

| 2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory] |
Huntsman (Sabic) North Tees Site, Teesside, November 2006 – Present
At North Tees I work as part of a machines team alongside fellow employees on compressors, steam turbines and pumps. Although not as experienced on the compressor and turbine side as much as the pumps I am have gained experience in the following duties:
Over speed trip testing, resetting of trip bolt assembly, governor assemblies, and coppus turbine overhauls from breakdown, overhaul and commissioning.
I have worked alongside specialist machines agency Elliott’s on various pieces of kit picking up as much experience as possible.
I have now had a taste for the machines side and would like to gain more experience in this field.
DupontSA T7 PTA Plant, Wilton Site, April 2006 – November 2006
I completed my Modern Apprenticeship on the DupontSA sister plant T8 and was transferred to T7 due to personnel retiring. I was part of the mechanical maintenance team who maintain all plant equipment such as pumps, valves, gearboxes, pressure and atmospheric centrifuges and gas blowers trying to keep downtime to an absolute minimum.
In my daily routines I made sure that safety is kept to the highest and make sure all safety standards and regulations were met. Having worked on the same chemical site for three years I become familiarised with the hazards around me and made sure myself and my colleagues were working in a safe environment.
I have also trained and specialised in sundyne pumps manufactured by sunstrand. These pumps are used a lot across our site and are a very intricate piece of kit and I took the opportunity to being taught the procedure of a maintenance strip and overhaul of the unit.
DupontSA T8 PTA Plant, Wilton Site, May 2004 – May 2006
I served my Modern Apprenticeship on this site and gained a lot of experience and knowledge whilst working there. During my first six months, I was based in the Mechanical workshop learning as much as possible about rotating equipment. I was working with a mechanical technician who showed me the ropes and taught me how to go about a full overhaul of mechanical equipment making sure that all safety aspects were covered. I then moved out onto plant working with much bigger equipment such as Centrifuges, Rovacs, Driers and Scrolls etc. I also had training on Rotalign Laser Alignment working down to fine tolerances on pump to motors or gearbox to motors.
I also had the job of carrying out oil and grease routines on a weekly basis making sure all plant equipment on the routine were oiled and greased to avoid any failures.
