1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]
I write in the hope that this letter may be of interest to you. I am currently in the process of completing the IMCA Pilot / Technician Grade II competency course at The Underwater Centre in Fort William with a view to becoming a ROV Pilot/Technician, which finishes on the 14th December of this year. After this I will be heading straight up to Aberdeen to complete my BOSIET sea survival and also my offshore Medical.
During the ROV training course, I gained ten hours of logged actual flying time with a Class II Seaeye Falcon. This included diver support operations for both air and mixed-gas divers from closed-bell and wet-bell systems, pipeline inspections, GVI and CVI inspections including all recording and logging procedures. In addition, I undertook corrosion monitoring, sonar/grid search exercises, search and recovery exercises working individually and as part of a team. Unusually on the course, our class of four carried out various repair and maintenance tasks on the ROV including of full strip-down and re-build of the manipulator, a thruster, and the replacement of a penetrator and re-termination of the umbilical following a failure of the main tether connector. I have finished the ROV piloting side of the course and now on the electronics side of the course.
May I thank you in anticipation for your time. If you have any questions or wish to discuss matters further, I would be pleased to hear from you for either an informal chat or to arrange an interview.
