Owing to the versatile training, it was easy to adapt from a category of industry products to an other, respectively;

Manufactured Products – Agricultural Implements Industry (Auto Tractor/Universal Tractor, Foreign Trade Company, Bucharest, Romania ; 1967-1979)

Contract Administrator – export of 3000 units fully built tractors and 1500 units in SKD conditions (65 HP) for local assembly (1967-1970)
Representation of Company in India, exports were increased by 1000
units of 65 HP, new line of tractors (45 HP) included for local assembly. (1970-1972)
Marketing Manager of a Canadian company fully owned by the parent company importing, assembling, tractors of 45, 55, 65 HP, over 2000 units were distributed in Western Canada, within the distributor & dealership network, follow up sales, collection of sale proceeds, supervising the field service team (1972-1975)
Contract Negotiator & Administrator – export of harvesting combines to Italy, England, Ireland, Canada. The combines for Canada were shipped in 40’ containers for local assembly.(1975-1979)

Custom Made Equipment & Installations – Power Generation Industry (Romenergo, Foreign Trade Company, Bucharest, Romania ; 1979 – 1992)

Contract Negotiator & Administrator – import from Canada of nuclear class equipment and installation for Units I & II of Cernavoda Nuclear Power Plant – Major Energetic Investment of Romania -, technical assistance for erection & commissioning, manufacturing technologies, know-how, to manufacture in Romania of nuclear class equipment, purchase value in excess of USD 60 million. (1979-1982)
Head of Counter Trade Department – managing a team of 5 subordinates, for the negotiation & administration of counter trade agreements , inclusive of the financial arrangements associated therewith, to compensate the imports from Canada, Italy and the USA for the Cernavoda Project, by Romanian exports consisting of re-bars, steel plates, steel profiles, steel tubes & pipes, various application fabricated steel structures, turbine housings, cast & forged items, rotor & turbine shafts, pressure retaining parts, coal mills components, electric motors, machine tools, furniture, garments, other products of immediate interest for the business, total counter trade exports amounted to over 500 million USD. (1982-1984)
Chief of Export Department - managing a team of 15 subordinates for the export of energetic steam boilers, heating boilers, turbines & components to former Eastern Bloc countries, amounting to over 150 million USD. (1984-1986)
Chief of China Export Department – managing a team of 10 subordinates to execute the export contract of 2 x 330 MW coal fired power plants, in amount of 250 million Swiss Francs to set off a government loan. Import of components such as coal mills & firing equipment, reduction gears, electric equipment, safety relief valves, condenser tubes, etc., were executed under a barter transaction with Romanian goods and Chinese cotton. (1986-1992)

Business Consult & Management (Viromar Trade & Services SRL, Bucharest, Romania ; 1992 – 2006)

Managing Director – providing consulting to entities, interested in doing business to and from Romania, directly or in association with third parties for projects in Romania or abroad, identifying products and customers, acting as a representation or commission agent for the interested parties (1992-2006)

Academic Education :

The “ Institute of Economic Sciences “,V.I.Lenin Bucharest, Romania, presently known as the “Academy of Economic Sciences ”, Bucharest Romania, has provided, during the 5 academic years (1962 to 1967) the necessary, and yet versatile training, mandatory to be licensed for this profession, consisting mainly in;

Professional Expertise :

In line with the above training the actual performance can be summarized as follows;

• for the assigned products and territory, performance of market surveys to identify new business opportunities, potential customers/suppliers,
• execute detailed in-depth costs analysis, other incumbent expenditure, in preparation of complete technical and commercial offers for sale/export or, request for quotations for purchases/imports, subject to specification
• evaluation of response to offers for sale/export, bids for purchase/imports with respect to the terms and conditions, prices, delivery, terms of payment, compliance with technical data, performance, guarantees, other pertinent data, to assess their acceptability or rejection, as applicable, in line with the company’s policy,
• drafting and negotiating the sale/purchase contractual agreements,
• administration of these agreements in all respects until completion thereof, including but not limiting to;
• placement of orders with the domestic or foreign suppliers/customers,
• issue/execute letters of credit, bank guarantees,
• arrangement of shipment, via terra/via mare, cargo insurance, customs clearance,
• making representations with the authorities to secure permits, obtain licenses, approvals, as it may be required under the law, contract or otherwise,
• monitoring the contract execution by the suppliers or customers, taking actions to prevent potential crisis, finding solutions to overcome disagreement, disputes during the contract execution,
• settlement of claims, quantitative, qualitative, on contractual basis, and, where required, assisting the legal department in pursuing the claims settlement in Arbitration, Court of Law,
• making progress reports to senior officers, administrative bodies, as applicable, regarding progress of the contracts execution,
• performance of other duties as the contracts development and execution require, like visiting the suppliers/customers in the country and abroad for the purposes of the contract, attending interface reunions, organizing meetings to address pertinent issues, etc.
