Woodside, Libya: Drilling Fluids Specialist Sept-2006- Nov 2007 : Technical and operational focal point for all aspects of drilling fluids and solids controls. Assessing tenders and developing tenders for onshore operations. Developing and ensuring that HSE aspects of drilling fluids are met. Providing technical and administrative support to the ongoing operation in all aspects of drilling fluids. Developing training for local staff. Liasing with both Woodside personnel and contractors where there are fluids issues. Ensuring invoicing and contracts associated with fluids are optimised.
KPO Kazakhstan: Desk Engineer June 2006 –Sept 2006: Operational aspects of Drilling Fluids. Developing procedures and risk assessments associated with the conversion of KPO fluids plant and rig site into an OBM drilling operation to support. This included the processes for the transportation and remediration of cutting generated by the drilling operations. Fluids Operational Engineer for the drilling, rigless, completion operations associated with the Karachaganah field operation. (Drilling Completion and Cement Fluids)
KMC Oiltools Malaysia: Technical Consultant. Jan 2005 – June 2006 Providing technical support for the developing KMC Oiltools operations. This included developing their fluids quality management systems, developing the fluids operational manual for both the engineers and coordinators. Developing the technical field service manual. Assisted in the development of the KMC data basing system. Acting as a technical focal to develop KMC oiltools deep water and HPHT capability. Developing KMC training material for both external and internal clients.

• Provided the drilling fluid service on two projects to date
• Introduce the first new drilling fluid system into Libya for more than 10 years. (a clouding glycol fluid)
• Oversaw a lab development project for a water-based fluid to drill the build section through sloughing shales. Conventional wisdom suggested only an OBM fluid could be used. The section was successfully drilled and cased
• Designed a economical drill-in fluid to drill a the longest horizontal onshore section in Libya
