Hertz equipment rentals 2007-present
I am currently employed as an aerial work platform mechanic at Hertz equipment rentals in Calgary, working primarily with boom and scissor lifts. This has allowed me to become very confident with electric over hydraulic type systems. I have worked on a variety of equipment here and have become proficient with the repair of small engine powered equipment like pumps and saws. Also I have gained a great deal of experience working with 110 volt powered equipment such as electric jackhammers, submersible pumps and heaters.
Enerflow industries 2006-2007
I was employed as a heavy equipment technician and welder at enerflow. I was involved in the construction and maintenance of frac pumping trailers while at enerflow. This included the layout and design of the trailer as well as installing the components onto it. I also was apprenticing as a welder with enerflow and have become a competent welder fabricator while working here.
I was employed as a field mechanic with nageco and gained much knowledge of aspects of field repair like fabricating parts when necessary, prioritizing downtime and general camp maintenance.
Crown energy technologies 2005 – 2006
I was employed as a heavy equipment technician at crown fabricating drilling rigs starting from scratch, bare frames, working from drawings, all the way to the finished products. I learned a great deal about hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic schematics and, the service rig and frac pumping industry in general while at Crown.
Self employed 2002 – 2005
During this period I was self employed as a mobile mechanic in BC Okanagan. I had a one ton truck with a small picker. I mostly worked on earthmoving equipment for the construction industry, Bulldozers, scrapers, loaders. Mostly Caterpillar equipment.
Inland Concrete 1999 - 2001
I finished my apprenticeship for heavy equipment technician while working at Inland concrete. Duties included servicing the fleet, general and running repairs and troubleshooting and problem solving. The work at Inland involved a great deal of hydraulic system rebuild and troubleshooting skills. I also received my class one driver’s license while with Inland concrete.
Brewster Transportation and tours 1996- 1999
I began my apprenticeship as a heavy equipment technician with Brewster bus lines. Duties included servicing the fleet, general and running repairs, and assist with government inspections. I learned a lot about 12 and 24 volt electrical systems while at Brewster
Phelps drilling 1994-1996
I worked as a roughneck and then a motorman for Phelps drilling. I learned a great deal about the drilling industry during my time there and have put this into good use during my career as a heavy equipment technician
