My ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004 company is a mega integrated industrial complex involved Ammonia/Urea Fertilizer unit and Power generation is done by three Thermal Power stations total capacity of 2490 MW.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Presently working in Thermal Station as Assistant Engineer Panel/Field Operation reporting to Shift Engineer/Thermal Station in DCS (Honey well) board operation of continues monitoring the running equipments of Boiler having capacity of 220 t/hr (90 Ksc and 540oC) of steam in 50MW and 100MW having total Station capacity of 600 MW and as well as in local Operation and having operational and working knowledge of Steam Turbine.
Operational Experience:
• Board Operation of Boiler and Steam Turbine continues monitoring the running equipments through DDC MIS (Distributed Digital Control Monitoring Information System).
• Normal Lighting-up, Shutdown Operation, Emergency Shutdown Operation, Unit Tripping, Load throw - off and handling operation emergency in Boiler.
• Schedule operations to check the readiness of reserve starting of equipments, Schedule change.
• Periodic readings and comparison of this reading with weakly / monthly readings.
• Unit Starting up and Rolling the turbine synchronize the unit with grid and load rising.
• If the running equipment found any fault like (bearing, line puncture, values problem, pumps gland leak, vibration ) issuance of equipment / line clearances to other units/section to attend the repair works, maintenance , carry out any modification, we also study the characteristics of the
Equipments from the previous history stored in DCS (Distributed Control System).
• Charging and Decommissioning of the following pumps such as Feed Pump, Cooling condensate Pump, Main condensate Pump, Circulating Water Pump, Ball Cleaning System, Starting Oil Pump, A/c Oil Pump, Cooling Tower Fans, Mill Outage, Slag conveyor outage.
Special operation:
• Hydraulic Test in Boiler & Condenser air tightness test.
• To prevent clinker formation in the furnace wall following operations.
• Soot Blowing, Water Lancing, Wall Blowing Operation.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Worked in Ammonia synthesis plant in the DCS (Honeywell) panel and field operations of all sections of desulphurization, catalytic reforming,CO2 removal, synthesis reactor, refrigeration, ammonia storage, Air and Gas Fractionation Plant including PLC controlled Reciprocating & Centrifugal gas & air Compressors, and in the Start-up, shutdown and troubleshooting. Co-operating with maintenance team for handing over the equipment, Testing after maintenance is over and lining up of equipments, Preparing and reporting of production reports and work Schedule, Issuing work permits for both cold and hot maintenance works and supervising the work with adequate safety measures.
Commissioning Experience:
Flushing of BFW pipelines, Chemical cleaning of BFW system, Air blowing of pipelines, Precooling of Cooling water system, Loading/unloading, Reduction/oxidation & Commissioning/decommissioning of Ni & Fe Catalyst.
Utilities Experience:
Experience had in job rotation in Utilities such as Raw Water & Potable Water System, DM plant, Reverse Osmosis Plant, Boilers, Refrigeration system, Fire Water system, Captive Power plant, CW treatment system and Inst. Air Compressor Filters & Dryers System, Steam distribution.
Process Details of Fertilizer Plant:
Low Sulphur Heavy Stock oil is used as the raw material. After partial oxidation and combustion raw feed gas is produced. Sulphur and other acid gases are removed in Desulphurisation unit using K¬2 CO3 and DEA as absorbing agents. Sulphur removed gas is passed through iron oxide catalysts at 500ºC, for conversion of CO to CO2 using shift gas reaction, converted gas undergoes decarbonation process where CO2 and H2 are separated using K¬2 CO3 and DEA as absorbing agents. H2 is sent for caustic wash to remove CO2 to avoid formation of solid ice in downstream plant. CO2 is passed through activated carbon to remove sulphur and sent to urea plant.
N2 and H2 is compressed in 1:3 ratios at a pressure of 250 kg/cm2 and passed through catalytic reactors (Fe2O3) where ammonia synthesis reaction takes place at 380ºC and ammonia gas is passed for refrigeration to liquefy and stored in Horton spheres. NH3 reacts with CO2 at 180ºC and 180 kg/cm2 to form Urea.

Unit Operation Involved:

Worked in the process, commissioning and decommissioning of Vacuum Distillation, High Pr. Exothermic Reaction Batch & Continuous Reaction, Refrigeration, Ejector system, Strainer changeover and cleaning, Pump changeover, Storage Tank Form Raw Material Receiving, Product storage.
Equipments Handled in Ammonia Plant:
Handled LSHS/Fuel Oil Gasifier,O2 Reciprocating Compressor, Waste Heat Boiler, Shift converter, Carbon Catcher, CO Converter ,K2CO3 and DEA Absorber& Regenerator , Hydrogen Caustic Washing Column , H.P Steam & Condensate system, H2S&COS Removal Column & Incinerator, Fuel Oil, Caustic lye, K2CO3 and DEA Storages Multi stage centrifugal pumps, Reciprocating Pumps, Stroke pumps, Vacuum pumps , Heat Exchangers,Condensers,Centrifuges.
