• A contract role based on modelling using CAESAR II, PSA5 & Autoplant. Codes designed to include, ASME B31.3 -1, BS 806, ASME III – Class 1 -2 -3. Designs include requirements for dynamics, transients, flow, thermal & civil structural.

02/2006-06/2007 Consultant, Engineering Department, MEGGITT THERMAL SYSTEMS (AVICA)., Herts.
 A Consultant role based on the development of the Thermal Anti Icing System for A400M INLET on site at GKN-Isle of Wight, using CAESAR II for piping systems, CATIA V5 R19 for pipe routing & tooling and PATRAN 2005/Nastran for Finite Element modelling (linear, non-linear & frequency response). Involved in the design (sizing–flow) and stressing to ASME B31.3 of optimal routing, support design, flexibles design/specification using EJMA and overseeing draughting & manufacture/production of first-offs. Designs include requirements for shock & vibration, thermal, structural, fatigue & damage tolerance.

09/2005-12/2005 Consultant, Engineering Department, CHELTON RADOMES Ltd., Herts.
 A Consultant role based around the development of composite structures (Carbon, Kevlar and Quartz) for aircraft & projectile radomes using CATIA V5 R14 for design and manufacture using CPD and IDEAS Master Series for Finite Element modelling.

 A Senior role based on New Product Development of composite structures for aircraft Interior Modules such as Galleys, Crew Rest Areas and Seating systems for JAA & FAA certification purposes using ANSYS 7.0.

 A Consulting role that involved producing a nodal loading (Shear-Moment-Torque) and Finite Element Analysis model using PATRAN 2004/Nastran for the Airbus A380 wing - Inner Fixed Leading Edge Structure.

 Deputy Head of Department (6 people) based on design, build testing and deployment of a 64-bit REDHAT Cluster for Finite Element Analysis & FLUENT Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling.
 Also advised in the use of CAESARII & Flowmaster for hydraulic networks, and Catia V5 & PATRAN for modelling of concept composite landing gear structures.

02/2004-05/2004 Principal Analyst, Engineering Department, HAMBLE AEROSTRUCTURES Ltd., Hampshire.
 Production of finite element models using MSC/Patran with Nastran & Abaqus solvers of primary & secondary structure in support of EFA Typhoon 2000 external fuel tanks.
 CFD of new designs was modelled using FLUENT-CFD for grid generation & clustered solving.

01/2003-01/2004 Stress Engineer/Analyst, Math Modelling Department WESTLAND HELICOPTERS Ltd, Somerset
 Production of finite element models using PATRAN2001/Nastran of primary & secondary structure in support of various projects -SuperLynx 300, Future Lynx & EH101.
 Types of analyses conducted: linear static, frequency response and normal modes of full airframe (SuperLynx 300 & Future Lynx) and component parts (stores carriers & undercarriage modifications).
 I also provided coaching to the less experienced engineers in the theory and creation of finite element models.
 Project leader of a static test correlation of a full airframe F.E. model with report submission to the MOD.

03/2002-12/2002 Technical Manager, DEDIENNE Ltd (Zwicky Engineering), Berkshire.
 Managed a small engineering department of 5 people.
 New product development involved me in the production version of a special purpose machine for the ground manoeuvring of a military aircraft for the Royal Navy. Areas of my expertise used were: hydraulic systems design, electronics, EMC, electro-mechanical design, stress analysis (hand calcs), design for assembly and overseeing the project transition from prototype to production.
 Project management involved me with purchasing, vendor appraisals, tendering responses, design work, resolving technical issues during the build, production scheduling and critical path analysis. Oversaw equipment trials and training of military personnel in the correct use of the equipment and integrating feedback into the design.

12/1999-01/2002 Senior Design / Principal Stress Engineer, MEGGITT AEROSPACE EQUIPMENT (AVICA) Ltd., Herts.
 Avica produce mission critical – piping /ducting for cabin pressurisation.
 Produced design solutions using CATIA & PATRAN/Nastran to customer specifications and provide design leadership of 3 design draughtsmen & 1 design engineer in generating new designs to cost and delivery schedules.
 Technical expertise used in the design, stress analysis, routing & installation, reporting, certification and testing of new equipment.
 Piping work involved the use of Flowmaster 2.0 & CAESAR II with ASME B31.1 -.3 -.4 & .8 piping codes.
 The structural stress work involved Static, Non-Linear & Vibration analyses on all the critical components of the new Meggitt design and customer aircraft structural elements using PATRAN R2001. Creep & fatigue analyses were conducted as and when required.
 The CATIA work combined with the stress work also involved verification of loading and margins of safety of structures.
 The CATIA V4 & V5 work involved solids, surfacing and drafting for the new design, the routing and installation of Meggitt metallic and composite components on the structural elements of aircraft.
 Also provided technical support to sales & marketing managers during bid preparation. I was also been involved in performing customer and internal presentations and demonstrations.

4/1999-12/1999 Design Engineer , CTP WIPAC Ltd ( Lotus Cars) , Buckingham, Bucks.
 ProEngineer was used in the design and A-Class Surfacing of automotive headlamp units in plastics (ABS & PC). This primary role included design reviews with the customer, sourcing suppliers and liaison with injection moulding toolmakers. Also used ProEngineer release 2000 & CATIA V4 for new product development.
 My secondary role involved CATIA V4.2.0 (SolidE and Surfacing) and was used during the deployment cycle of the new design with Lotus Cars.
