1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

Recently I have been searching the Internet for a an international job in the Engineering/Electronics/Instrumentation/Calibration field. I am currently a Service Manager for a Trimble equipment dealer and I currently repair, calibrate, and certify all types of surveying eqiuipment. Prior to my current position I was employed by the Department Of Defense (DOD) at Kelly AFB, in San Antonio, for 14. 5 years in PMEL. My goal for 2008 is to get back in the a field where my expertise, skills, background and experience can be utilized to accomplish company goals. I am trained and very familiar with standard operating procedures in a laboratory environments, Automated Test Equipment , Electronics, and Retail: to include, sales, service and support of products. While in the government, I held positions such as manager, team leader, trainer, on-sight repair technician and specialized in optical tooling, mass, force, torque, vibration pick-ups, temperature, humidity and pressure. All of my technical training has been through the US government D.O.D and recently Product Training through the factory. I need approximately 50 hrs to complete my my Bachelors degree in the field of Engineering Technology. My many years of experience lends itself to the Engineering, Electronics field but I am open to other opportunities. Although I would prefer an international career, I would be amenable to relocation in the United States if opportunity warrants it. I know I could make a significant contribution to your company. 2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

My experience consists of two technical fields that are not very common but are very specialized. My current position is a Service Manager for a Construction equipment dealer. My current job consist of customer service to include: service, support and sales of the following products Nikon, Sokkia, Trimble, K & E, Brunson and Leica I oversee the service center and I am in charge of all repairs that come in for service. My job consists of identifying equipment, (make, model, and s/n,) entering unit into our computer system along with problems with unit. The equipment for repair consists of total stations, transits, lasers, level rods, autolevels and theodolites. Equipment is designed for surveying and customer base consists of contractors and engineers. The basics for repairs are the same for troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating and certifying the accuracy of each piece of equipment. Software upgrades are required for some equipment. This requires my lab-top along with a special upload cable. I have been factory trained through Sokkia Measuring Systems and I am certified. Equipment utilized for testing consists of digital voltmeter, oscilloscope, frequency counter, factory modified test box and encoder fixtures (for alignment.) . In major repairs of equipment, the use of the equipment listed above is required along with parts replacement which may consist of; fuse replacement, soldering of circuit components such as capacitors, resistors, broken wires, broken circuit pins, battery clips, and circuit board strips.
Other duties of my job have included training and guidance to other technicians in the field and co-workers. Upon completion of new equipment sale, some customers needed equipment field training. It is possible to spend a day in training with customers.
Prior to my Service Manager job of 9 years, I was a Metrology Technician for 14.5 years in the Department Of Defense, Kelly AFB, TX. I maintained and operated sophisticated, computerized equipment used to measure weight, density, temperature, thickness, time and other factors. Calibrated equipment for various Air Force Departments and surrounding contractors. Maintained equipment on a schedule, perhaps once a year and other equipment every few months.
