My career to date has been within the defence industry including the Ministry Of Defence and Babcock Naval Services / Babcock Marine. I now wish to expand my experience and relish the thought of taking on the challenges within the oil and gas industry. My “safety first” attitude gained from my previous employment is well suited for the oil and gas industry where the safety implications are as important as that in the defence industry. I am a team player but am equally happy working on my own using my own initiative if required.
2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]
November 2000 – present Electrical Calibration Engineer at Northern Calibration Facility, HMNB Clyde. Currently certified in 9 parameters:- Multimeters & DMM’s , Oscilloscopes, Counters, Bridges, Nuclear Instrumentation, Phase angle Meters, Sources and Supplies, Oscillators, Valve Voltmeters. I am also Team Leader certified for calibration of Diesel Generator SCADA transducers and 11kV transducers at RNAD Coulport and HMNB Clyde.
1997 – November 2000 Quality control officer on Mk 24 Torpedo system in charge of four QC inspectors.
1989 – 1997 Automatic Test Equipment Maintainer / Weapon Engineering Group Diagnostician on Mk24 Tigerfish torpedo. Participated in torpedo trials in Florida / Bahamas on an annual basis. Team leader of 6 staff plus run analysis officer and diagnostician five to six times per year for Mk24 torpedo trials at the underwater trials center, Kyle of Lochalsh.
1988 – 1989 Building Officer / Weapon Diagnostician / Test Equipment Maintainer in Cat 1.1 and 1.4 explosive buildings.
1979 – 1988 Mk24 torpedo electrical diagnostician / run analysis officer. Participated in torpedo trials in the UK, Florida and Bahamas. Qualified as a member of Radiation Team Monitor in 1980 ( in team until transfer to Northern Calibration Facility in November 2000 )

My personal interest are Skiing, Snowboarding, Dinghy sailing, Paragliding, Sea Kayaking, Hillwalking ( West Highland way completed in 2004 ).
I also like to travel independently abroad preferring to make my own arrangements rather than relying on tour companies.. I toured the full coastline of Tenerife in 2006 by foot / bus and the full Turkish Mediterranean coast and plateau in 2007 by car. I am planning on touring India in 2008 and if time permits, to gain my club paragliding licence
