2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

My varied experience on the Collins Class Submarine project; starting in the early build of the hull and structure, progressing in to the outfitting with extensive valve, accumulator and pressure vessel installation work along with hydrostatic testing of fuel, ballast, waste tanks and pipe systems.

I worked for six years within the Mechanical Set to Work Team.
The Mechanical Set to Work Team is responsible for the commissioning of submarine platform system’s, planned and corrective maintenance and ongoing modifications within the systems enhancement program.
Platform systems include extensive hydraulics and pneumatic together with water systems and hotel services. I was involved in the commissioning of five Collins class submarines; the very nature of the work in this project has presented many complex and difficult problems, which required a sound analytical reasoning and dedication to complete the task, From time to time I was required to work offshore with the submarines for commissioning activities.

My most recent day to day Responsibilities in QC have been overseeing the commissioning of platform systems and development of Inspection & Test Plans, producing work packs through Quality planning, this also involved the implementation of risk assessments & safety plans. My input would then flow onto constructability reviews to assist in the scheduling of the critical paths for vendor supply, and site installation. Other roles I am actively involved with are system surveys in Western Australia for Mid Cycle Maintenance Periods, by coordinating with submarine management team, production personnel and estimating for dockings of submarines.
Scheduling and planning was of the most critical as to not impact on the submarine’s sea time.

The surveys would identify any damage, corrosion or design faults and the report would then generate a work pack together with my recommend system tag out, repair method, supplying system identification, pipe number as per schematic drawing , pipe manufactures drawing number, required coatings, reassembly assembly instructions, flushing, pressure testing procedures and system commissioning instructions for the contractors.
