CHECK COMPLIANCE AND CERTIFICATION WELDING CONSUMABLES,PROJECT MATERIALS.
CHECK AVAILABILITY AND CALIBRATION STATUS OF EQIPMENTS AND INSRUMENTS.
PERFORM,MONITOR AND RECORD THE QUALIFICATION OF PROCEDURES AND WELDERS
PREPARE AND GET APPROVAL AND DISTRIPUTE THE LIST OF WPS,WELDER &CONSUMABLE.
CHECK PILE TO PILE ,CROWN SHIM,JACKET, TRANSITION AND DECK FIT UP AND WELDING.
MONITOR AND SPOT RECORD WELD PARAMETERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPROVED WPS
VERYFY THAT ONLY APPROVED WELDERS/ELECTRODS/MACHINES ARE PERFORMED.
PERFORM VISUAL INSPECTION ON COMPLETION OF WELD REF TO CLIENT SPEC. & AWS D 1.1
CHECK NDT RESULT-IF REPAIR FOLLOW THE REPAIR WELDING PROCEDURE AND RECORD.
CHECK PILE DAMAGE DUE TO HAMMERING,FINAL CUTOFF,BEVEL NDT & UT LAMINATION.
20” OOL INSTALLATION – J- LAY
BEFORE WELDING :
Understand and follow project requirement,inspection test plan and project quality plan.
Check the documents what are available to latest revision.
Verify the list of wps and welders qualification for approvals.
Check the calibration validity for machines, instruments, equipments and gauges
Check material (base metal and filler metal), grade, thickness, diameter etc.
Check fit up and hi-lo(use dial gauge) acceptance comply with specification.
Mack sure flame cut bevel ends to UT lamination and MPI test.
Check the joint for free from paint, oil, grease, dust and rust.
Check pre heat by tempil stick / digital thermometer comply with wps.
DURING WELDING:
Verify weld parameters(amps, volt and travel speed comply to wps by arc logger.
Check the inter pass temperature, weld bead sequence & gas flow rate.
AFTER WELDING :
Visual inspection of weld joint for surface imperfection(under cut, incomplete fusion, spatter etc).
Monitor the joint for further ndt acceptance-.aut by ndt subcontractor.
Make sure repair weld not permitted. if any repair, follow re-weld procedure.
Check the method of flush grinding of the capping pass as per procedure.
Thickness check of the grinded cir. Seam at eight locations and perform record.
Monitor the magnetic particle test on the grinded cir. Seam.
Monitor preheat temp. for fusion bonded epoxy painting& p u coating activities.
Prepare, sign and submit the necessary inspection reports.

Supervises the Quality Control functions/activities of a project or its parts, including Quality Control inspection schedules and the collection of Quality Records.

Assesses the implementation of the Quality Plan on site.
Allocates Quality Control personnel to the various areas of site activity.

Supervises inspections, reports and the documentation issued by inspectors and collect and file the required Quality Records.

Evaluates the qualifications of welders and Non Destructive Test-NDT technicians with regard to the activities assigned.

Evaluates the qualifications of inspection personnel.
Ensures the correct application of Quality Control phase.

Takes case of reporting on his duty to Project Quality Engineer (PQE).
Arranges in coordination with PQE and site personnel procedures, manuals and reports.

Be sure that all sites activities are carried out according to reference documentation.

Cooperates in Event Report Management and for all the implementation of relative corrective actions.

Manages collaboration of Calibrated measurement instruments and related certifications.

Distributes Quality Plan on Site.

Informs the Project Quality Engineer of any deviation regarding the contract.
