To introduce myself I am a Marine Engineer with 16 years experience now serving on board the vessel as Chief Engineer for last 2.5 years. Now I am planning to shift my career from sea to ashore within few months, on this view I am applying for a shore based jobs.

1. I am Marine Engineer, working on board the ship. I have started my career 1992 as
Junior Engineer and still serving as Chief Engineer. I am planning to shift my career
from sea to ashore with in few months.
My job is to carry out all repair and maintenance of all ship machineries and as well as keep the all machineries in running condition for ship’s operation. Details of machineries which I can handle as follows :
Diesel Engines ( Both 2 & 4 Strokes), Boiler, Thermal oil heater, All Types of pumps, Control System, , Refrigeration and Air Conditioning System, Piping and Valve Arrangement, Air Compressors, Fresh Water Generator, All Hydraulic System, Fire Fighting system, Oil Separators, Heat Exchanger, Some Electrical Equipments and all other on board machineries.

I am the Head of the Engineering Department. Senior Management level Career. My jobs include
Troubleshooting of the machineries problem, Requisition of Spare Parts, Cost Control, Planning for ships operation, Personnel Management, Surveying etc. As Chief Engineer I have to work in liaison with various International Classification Societies like GL, LR, BV, KR etc.
I have to work always under pressure. We have to count 7 days in a week 24 hours in a day.
Rank wise service background as follows :
Feb’92 to Feb’93 : Rank - Cadet Engineer, served as Apprentice - Entry Level Career.

Feb-96 to Nov’97 : Rank - 5th Engineer, served as Junior Engineer as Assistant – Junior Level Career

Nov’97 to May’99 : Rank – 4th Engineer. Resposible for the repair and maintenanace of Oil Separator, Air
Compressor, All kinds of pumps, Bunker Calibration and Individual Watch Keeping of
the plant : Mid-Level career.

Sep’99 to Oct’2001 : Rank - 3rd Engineer Responsible for Generators, Boiler and Individual Watch Keeping
of the plant : Mid-Level career.

Oct’2001 to Aug’2005 : Rank- 2nd Engineer : Executive Engineer of the Engine Department. Responsible for
repair and maintenanec of all Engine Room machineries. Senior level career

From Sep’ 2005 : Rank- Chief Engineer : Head of the Engineering Department. Fully responsible for
ship’s operation and repair and maintenance of the whole ship.Cost control, on board
Personnel Management Etc. Senior Management Level Career.


I got my training from the Marine Academy Bangladesh which is the branch of World Maritime University, Malmo, Sweden.

QUALIFICATIONS:
AA. Secondary School Certificate (S.S.C) : 10 years School level course passed in 1986 and obtained first
division from science group. Average mark obtained 70% of total marks.
BB. Higher Secondary Certificate (H.S.C) : 2 years pre-graduation course, passed in 1988 and obtained first
division from science group. Average mark obtained 70% of the toatal marks.
CC. 4 years graduate level Marine Engineering Course passed from Marine Academy, Chittagong,
Bangladesh (Branch of World Maritime University, Malmo,Sweden). This course consists of three phases
( Phase-1, II & III)

Phase-I : 2 years study in the Academy, Passed as Engineering Cadet and got Extra First Class. Average
mark obtained 75% of the toatal marks
Duration : Jan’90 to Dec’91

Phase-II : 1 year practical training on board the ship as Apprentice.
Duration : Feb’92 to April’93

Phase-III : 1 year advance training in the Academy in line with UK Merchant Navy Training Board.
Duration : June’93 to June’94
