My Experience within the field of corrosion control began as a surface preparator and coating applicator prior to entering Supervision / Inspection, I am currently approved as an Institute of Corrosion Level 3 Senior Coating Inspector and NACE CIP Level 1 Certified. This has given me hands on experience which along with my technical inspection skills enables me to achieve a high quality end result for the client. I am well traveled having worked on marine, naval, industrial and civil engineering projects throughout the world. My previous employers note me as being trustworthy enthusiastic loyal and diligent.

Working within the corrosion control industry has given me vast familiarity with many varied types of surface preparation treatments and applications of sophisticated coatings and linings first second and third generation. My past experience has provided me with valuable knowledge enabling me to identify and concentrate on specific areas that may lead to coating failure and promptly rectify or advise on corrective actions. My main skills are as follows: Senior Coating Inspector / Superintendent, Coating Advisor / Coating Condition Surveyor / Coating Supervisor and Blasting Painting Manager.

More recently I have moved into Risk Based Inspections, Coating failure analysis and specification review as well as conducting coating condition surveys of ballast tank coatings and internal external linings on marine structures, platforms etc, I have also been heavily involved in material selection and researching of materials and there suitability for offshore installations and marine vessels. All of the above are areas in which I have a keen interest and would like to continue.

Duties: Employed as Client Representative to Total for the refurbishment of Intumescent PFP and blasting and painting of live hydrocarbon lines. Duties included inspection, monitoring reporting and documentation and observing contractor’s work to conformance to the client’s specification I was also responsible for Risk Based Inspection of hydrocarbon lines as well as specification review and failure analysis investigations.
I am also responsible for procedure writing and coating condition surveying as well as advising the client and the contractor of any potential problems and general troubleshooting for the project.

Duties: Employed as Quality Assurance and Quality Control inspector for Occidental Petroleum in Qatar in the middle east my duties included the inspection of all blasting and coating procedures for the refurbishment of 50 live well head jackets offshore from Occidentals PS1 facility my main responsibilities include the leading of inspection teams and testing gauging and monitoring of the contractors performance for conformities to the relevant specification and contractual obligations and checking for compliance, Duties also included Specification review and corrosion surveying.

Position Coatings Service Engineer Clients Various

Duties: Employed as Paint Manufacturers technical representative on various Dry-docking and new build projects throughout the world in the far east and middle east and throughout Europe working on internal Cargo hold and ballast tank refurbishments and condition surveys as well as internal and external hull refurbishments on multiple types of vessels including but not limited to VLCC, FPSO, LNG, Bulk carriers and chemical tankers. Clients seconded to included V ships, OSG, P&O Ferries, Angelakos Hellas and Zodiac to name but a few. My main duties included Supervision of works carried out, inspection of each preparation and application stage of works using varied instruments and techniques, as well as Coating Failure Analysis and specification writing and reviewing.

Duties: Employed as Senior Inspector seconded to Transco to advise and direct on all painting operations on the Scottish network painting program for 2003 projects included complete refurbishment and remedial work on high pressure gas vessels and LNG tanks using second and third generation coatings Client was directed on beneficial coatings to use, costs, environmental issues, operation plans, Quality assurance and inspection to provide an ideal complete painting programme for the network.

Duties: Employed as Coating inspector working in the South China Sea offshore as Painting/Coating inspector and supervisor working under direct supervision of senior inspector co-coordinator. My main duties were to oversee the annual painting project on four offshore platforms and one FPSO vessel. Working in charge of a large Chinese workforce to attain maximum corrosion protection of all external surfaces i.e. - topsides, atmospheric zones, splash zones of all fixed installations, deck and progress packages of FPSO. Duties included monitoring testing and gauging to check for conformance to the relevant specification as well as advising on environmental conditions and preparation and application techniques

Duties: General supervising of all Shot Blasting and Painting Personnel organizing work loads to ensure deadlines were met and all equipment is up to Health and Safety standards. Overseeing all surface preparation was maintained to a high standard of Quality before and after treatment both internally and externally cargo and water ballast tank linings, liaising with management and clients on a regular basis to report all progress within my area. I covered a vast scale of surface preparation methods from Abrasive Blasting to UHP water jetting as well as all power tool cleaning methods. I have an extensive knowledge of standards and Coating Technology. Working on LNG, ULCC, VLCC throughout the world
