2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

8/05 – Present GE Energy/Oil and Gas

Currently working in the capacity of Mechanical Field Engineer/Technical Advisor specializing in gas turbines. My experience with GE is in maintenance, installations, and commissioning. My maintenance experience includes combustion inspections, hot gas path inspections, borescope inspections, and major overhauls. My maintenance experience is primarily on GE Frame 7F and 9F gas turbines, although I also have experience on Frame 3, 5, and 6B gas turbines. While working in this capacity I developed the ability to give clear technical direction throughout the entire maintenance process. The common duties carried out during the maintenance process were to oversee the proper and safe disassembly and reassembly of the gas turbine as well as performing a thorough personal inspection of all combustion hardware, turbine blades and nozzles, gearboxes, and bearings. Precision measurement and clearance readings on the turbine, gearboxes and bearings, interpretation of their meanings, and proactive problem solving were also integral parts of this position. Upon completion of each maintenance project I was responsible for the generation customer field service reports while insuring customer satisfaction throughout the entirety of the project. In my maintenance experience I have become very skilled at technical document interpretation, turbine component inspection, and failure analysis.

My installation experience entails one GE Frame 6B gas turbine for power generation and three GE Frame 9E gas turbines for combination power generation and liquefied natural gas production. I am fully experienced in all aspects of the installation process from foundation work, to shaft alignment, and systems commissioning. As a regular part of my position I am expected to resolve technical issues that arise during the installation and assembly process in a timely and cost effective manner.

Responsibilities included safe and efficient operation of all plant main and auxiliary equipment while maintaining optimal plant performance and meeting power grid demands. I am very familiar with balance of plant operations for combined cycle power systems including all main and auxiliary equipment associated with both gas turbine operating systems and steam power plant operations. A routine part of my job was the interpretation of performance data, vibration analysis, emissions monitoring, and a thorough understanding of process flows. Daily activities included systems operation and cycling, insuring that all equipment maintenance activities were scheduled, coordinated, and safely carried out. This particular plant was not a Base Loaded system therefore GT cycling and HRSG blending and unblending was a routine part of the operating cycle. I worked in the capacity of project coordinator during semi-annual plant shutdowns and maintenance outage periods where I developed strong skills in managing and coordinating multiple projects occurring simultaneously.
