2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

Mechanical Engineer- Welding specialist, reporting to the Metallic Structure Manager as the Welding activities Coordinator for the fabrication and assemblage of the metallic structure of the Second Combined Bridge over Orinoco River – Venezuela (www.puenteorinoco.com).
Comprehensive duties and responsibilities primarily entail:
• Currently responsible for the supervision of fabrication and welding of the metallic elements of the combined bridge structure: railway and highway (total length = 3.120 m) – Codes: AWS D 1.1, AWS D 1.5, AASHTO and AREMA .
• Currently responsible for supervision of the welding assembly activities of the metallic structure of the bridge. Large technical assistance on site.
• Supervisor for qualification of welders according to AWS D 1.5 Code requirements for SMAW, FCAW and SAW processes.

2000 - 2003: ORINOCO IRON Co. - VENEZUELA.
Mechanical Engineer reporting to the Construction Manager as the Piping Superintendent for the erection of a Briquette Plant – Project of BHP Australia.
• Currently responsible for inspection of fabrication, welding and testing of Pipe Circuits for the Reactor and Briquette Installation, Water and Natural Gas Feeding Circuits of high and medium pressure.
• Supervisor for training of welders according to ASME Code – Section IX requirements for SMAW and GTAW processes.
Secondary activity as the Insulation Supervisor of different pipe line circuits.

Welding engineer working in Training and Qualifying Center of Human Resources Department.
• Currently responsible for programming and later, theoretical and practical activity of high qualification training of welders, according to ASME Code – Section IX requirements for SMAW and GTAW processes.
• Welding technical assistances for maintenance activities in operation plants: boiler pressure installation, bridge - crane rolling way, steel sheets hot lamination equipments, etc.

Welding engineer working in design department of cranes reparations.
• Currently responsible for designing of various kinds of reparations and adaptations for 150, 200 and 300 t. cranes bodies.
• Technical assistance in plant for implementation of all the designed adaptations.
• NDT control responsible: Dye Penetration Test, US and Radiographic Examination of welding seams.

Q.C. Department. Welding Engineering Coordinator. Currently responsible for all welding on a combined cycle power plant reporting to the Construction Manager.
Comprehensive duties and responsibilities primarily entail:
• Qualifying all welders according to ASME Code - Section IX requirements. Each welder’s groove weld test was investigated by radiography. Results of tests on Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) processes recorded on ASME Formats.
• Qualifying welding procedures based on Procedure Qualification Record (PQR) a Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) issued for each welding data.
• Organizing NDT for Dye Penetration Test and Radiographic Examination for tanks and pressure pipes.
• Storage and Control of all types of welding material on site.
• Allocation of welders for different work points - daily on ANSALDO Co. Specific formats.
• Large technical assistance on site for welding high and low pressure pipe lines, storage tanks of 320 – 8,000 cm capacity for light fuel oil, demineralized and potable water under API Code 650, varied steel structures of the Boiler, Inlet duct, Casing, Outlet duct, Chimney, Economizer headers, the Diverter of SIEMENS gas turbine (Germany), the Steam turbine (Italy) pipelines, the Condenser, the Circulating water system, the Fire fighting system, etc.
Later starting as the Q.C. Insulation Supervisor for boiler, gas turbine, steam turbine, tanks, pipe lines, etc.

1989 – 1997: NUCLEARMONTAGE Co. Bucharest - ROMANIA.
Senior Engineer:
Started in the Welding Design Dept. as the Senior Engineer, later transferring to a nuclear power plant site in Romania. I worked with Canadian welding specialists from the ATOMIC ENERGY OF CANADA Ltd. (AECL), ONTARIO HYDRO Board and Italian welding specialists from ANSALDO ENERGIA in the vessel department, under the Quality Assurance System according to the ISO 9001 and ISO 9002 requirements.
Responsibilities primarily entail:
• Qualifying all welders according to ASME Section IX prescriptions for GTAW, SMAW, GTAW + SMAW and GMAW processes.
• Qualifying welding procedures for the above welding processes for carbon, low alloy and stainless steel, WPS and PQR issuing including:
- Storage and Control of all types of welding materials used on site.
• A large technical assistance on site for welding of different pressure piping systems, the feeders in nuclear reaction room, the condenser installation, the radiation protection shower systems, the steam generators supporting structure, etc.
Later starting as the Principal Welding in Charge Engineer for hot water and steam boilers repairing activity on different sites of the company. My duties included preparing and checking the SMAW and GTAW welding procedures and different mechanical fabrication and assembly activities for erection, renewing and repairing boilers of various capacities.

1979 – 1989: NEW HOLLAND Co. Bucharest - ROMANIA.
Senior Engineer:
Employed in the Design Department as the Senior Engineer responsible for all welding activities, including manual and automatic welding processes GTAW, SMAW and GMAW for the fabrication of complex agricultural combine harvesters. My duties included coordination of the preparing and checking of all welding technological documentation, designing and qualifications of technologies and jugs for welding and mechanical fabrication and assemblage. A permanent technical assistance granted for production. I have a very comprehensive knowledge in understanding and working with technical drawings, codes and other documents. I coordinated a large activity for the implementation of a new GMAW automatic process, procedures and specific jigs designing including. I have a large experience in the automatic Electrical Resistance Welding process too.
I coordinated also a large repairing activity for mechanical and energetic installations: lifting and pressing machines, boilers, natural gas, steam and water pressure pipe line, etc.
