Title: Redesign/Modification of transmission system of draw works of drilling rig of model E760,ONGC, for its optimum energy utilization..
Abstract : The conventional process of mechanical power transmission system of existing draw works of drilling rigs are bulky, complicated, involves different mechanisms consumes lot of input power due to various transmission losses in the system. The existing system not only reduces the life of machine but also increases the operating cost due to different losses. In order to increase the efficiency of the existing transmission system and also to reduce the operating cost of machine, the existing system should be modified the torque converter is one of the suitable substitute for the existing system to eliminate unwanted power losses and optimize the operating cost of the machine. This system considerably increases efficiency of the power transmission system and reduces the operating cost of machine.
