ALBA FSU – Maintenance Supervisor (Bibby Offshore)
Responsible for all maintenance on board the installation. Supervision of all engineers, mechanics and fitters. Responsible for the updating, issuing of PM's ordering of spares etc. All fuel, lube oil, spares etc are the responsibility of the M/S.
The hiring of vendors and liaising with shore side management are also an integral part of the M/S duties.
Responsible for the efficient running of the engine room during a 12 hr period on shift. Seillean is a DP vessel with 7 x Schottel Lips thrusters (1 tunnel, 6 azimuth) 6.6Kv.
Main machinery are 3 x MAN B&W 8L 40/45 diesel engines (4.2Mw), 3x Ruston TB500 gas turbines (3.3) used for power generation. Seillean is currently operating off the coast of Brasil for Petrobras.
NOVEMBER 2004 – JANUARY 2006
FPSO Seillean – Senior Mechanic (Northern Marine)
Responsible for the operation and ongoing maintenance of both Production plant and Engine room. Working in conjunction with the maintenance supervisor and production supervisor the mechanical department carried out all critical maintenance throughout the vessel. Responsible for ordering of spares, materials etc for the mechanical team consisting of three mechanics and two welders.

FPSO Seillean - 3rd Engineer (Northern Marine)
Duties included day to day maintenance of all machinery in the machinery spaces.

Duties included maintenance of Nohab/Wartsilla diesels, draw works, elevators and other associated drilling plant and machinery. The Stena Dee is a thruster (Kamewa) assisted semi submersible drilling rig. The Stena Dee went into lay up in Invergordon.
Prior to this I served on board several oil tankers worldwide, serving my apprenticeship with Northern Marine Management, firstly as a cadet and secondly as 3rd assistant engineer prior to going offshore. I attended Glasgow College of Nautical Studies obtaining an HND in mechanical engineering.
