I am a 25 year old operations technician with 6 years experience on a gas/coal/oil Power station using DCS systems to operate gas turbines and coal/gas/oil fired boilers. In my role I also manage work activities with other operators and issue and accept Work Control Permits.
I started in the industry with TTE (Teesside Training Enterprise) on a modern apprenticeship scheme. I work well in a team and I am always looking for ways to better myself and improve the efficiency of the workplace. I always put health and safety as a priority in any task I do.
This role has allowed me to develop my time management, organisational and communication skills giving me the opportunity to show that I can operate within systems and procedures effectively.
2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]
June 2006 – Present Day Sembcorp Utilities (UK) Limited (Sc(UK)Ltd). Wilton
Volunteered to go on days with a project commissioning team. The project, called “Wilton 10” is to commission a new HP steam wood burning boiler/Turbine. My participation in the team is to assess P&ID drawings, create operating, commissioning and shut down instructions, training and over looking safety of the project. Working with work control permits and issuing them when possible.

Following the completion of my Chemical Technician Advanced Modern Apprenticeship Programme and the sale of Enron Teesside Operations limited to Sembcorp Utilities Teesside Limited I was offered a permanent contract of employment within Sc(UK)Ltd as an Operating Technician working twelve hour shifts. Where I am now trained in all aspects of the Water treatment operative’s role and Power station operative’s roles including Turbine synchronisation, gas turbine operation and, boiler control using modern DCS systems and giving authorisation for electrical switching activities being carried out on the Wilton International site. In this role excellent communication is a most and is used all the time and Safety is the number 1 priority. I am also close to gaining my Work Control Permit authorisation.
March 2001 – March 2003 Enron Teesside Operations Limited (ETOL). Wilton International
Transferred over from Electrical to the Chemical Technician Advanced Modern Apprenticeship Programme within TTE Wilton where I received a sponsorship from ETOL and was based on the Wilton Water Treatment plant where I worked on a twelve hour shift pattern.. As the Water Treatment Apprentice my duties were to learn the various process operator roles ranging from the Outside Operator (manual operating of plant equipment and monitoring of water quality) / links and veins (commissioning HP/LP steam, water, compressed air and nitrogen mains) role, to the Inside Control Room Operators Role. Where I gained experience using scada control systems to control & operate the water treatment plant. I also gained experience using digital control systems to control and operate; Oil and Gas fired Radiant boilers, control site steam distribution and pressure and Turbine alternator electrical generation. In this time I Completed NVQ’s level 2 & 3 in Chemical & Pharmaceutical Process Operations, Process Plant Operations Parts 2 qualification and the Process Plant Operations Part 3 qualification in the subject of Science and Chemistry.

Work Placement Programme at Wilton International site. Training to become an electrician and instrument technician, work involved maintaining plant instruments and electrical equipment ranging from lighting to 11Kv motors to flow meters.

After leaving school I was employed as an apprentice by TTE on a Modern Apprenticeship programme. In October 1999 I commenced Training to become an Electrician/Instrument Technician. In this time I achieved an NVQ level 2 in Electrical Installation
