A highly experienced Cost Control Engineer with 9 years in depth knowledge of international and local oil and gas industry financial cost control processes for both Onshore and Offshore Projects. Excels in the all areas pertaining to financial control and reporting functions, co-ordination and energising project supply chains requirements as well as cost tracking and reporting at all levels.

Regarded as reliable, diligent, attentive and knowledgeable individual. These opinions and contributions are evident in the long periods of my career continuity (see Career Summary) despite the cyclic nature of project activity in the oil and gas industry.
A key member within various Bp cost control award winning projects, selected to support various high profile budgets at a team level lead.
Delivered flexibility also detailed planning and tracking which was an essential part in the success of the rapidly fast moving changes in daily operations. These projects further developed my knowledge and familiarity within the Industry.

Jun 2007 – Sep 2007 Drilling Cost Controller Repsol YPF EAA /
Offshore Drilling in Spain and Morocco, with the base office in Madrid, Spain

Work Role & Responsibilities:
1. Delivered Capex Budget for 2008.
2. Delivered 2008 P&O and direct cost budget for Offshore Drilling Department and other support departments.
3. Prepare the Well AFEs / EAA Wells.
4. Follow PSCM functional guidance in effective demand planning and procurement activities, including sourcing strategy development, invitations to tender, analysis of tenders/proposals, contractor negotiations, contract execution and performance management.
5. Developing the project WBS and maintenance of the cost codes structure.
6. General support to a small drilling team.
7. Plan and lead development of contracting, purchasing and construction strategies, as well as negotiation/administration of contracts.
8. Communicate progress toward achieving project metrics to management, drilling team members.
9. Capture, communicate and apply lessons learned as best practices on the assigned project.

Sept 2004 – Jun 2007 Cost Control Engineer BP Drilling Operations

Work Role & Responsibilities:

Monthly reporting:
10. Deliver Drilling GFO submissions as per timetable. Achieve target of 3% variance between Forecast GFO and Actual GFO - throughout the year (Competence: Providing Management Information, Understanding Performance).
11. Deliver accurate VOWD and Accruals information. Ensure availability of all supporting documentation as required by SOX – monthly (Competence: Understanding Financial and Accounting Information).
12. Deliver Group Accounts supplementary and additional information inputs such as capital commitments, accruals analysis, operating lease information - throughout the year. (Competence: : Understanding Financial and Accounting Information)
13. Prepare the drilling monthly cost report (Competence: Internal Control, Providing Management Information).
Well Reconciliation

14. Prepare AFE for various Drilling wells and raise AFE Supplementary as required- start the process 2 months before well drilling starts. 3 weeks- for preparation, 1 week- for getting approval - ongoing. (Competence: Providing Management Information, Internal Relationships)
15. Complete well reconciliation within 6 months after well completion. Understand variance between AFE and actual, be able to explain the variance. (Competence: Understanding Performance)
16. Analyze lessons learned during the operation to enhance the future projects.

Invoice Control

17. Make sure that all invoices are technically correct and coded against the activity where they are budgeted. Provide support to Accounts Payable and Inter-company tag as required to achieve target of 0 invoices overdue>60 days- ongoing. (Competence: Internal Control)
18. Update the Choke’s for the fields: invoices status, date sent to AP, approval date, notes- ongoing. Review twice per week own invoices from the Choke and proactively reconcile invoices on hand and invoices as per system to identify and rectify any problems in invoices processing cycle. (Competence: Internal Control, Understanding Performance).

Contract compliance control
19. Review Contracts Compliance reports and provide with explanation of reasons for non-compliances. Follow up the issues with responsible people to improve statistics – quarterly (Competence: Internal Control, Internal Relationships)
20. Review E-Contracts Tool Report and follow up issues with responsible people as required- monthly. (Competence: Internal Relationships/Control, Risk Assessment)
21. Ensure Drilling contracts are up-to-date and there are funds available to avoid contract overspend. Coordinate SWO and e-UT process- ongoing. (Competence: Internal Control, Risk Assessment)

P&O Control

22. Track P&O actual spend against the budget in the monthly cost report distributed by the P&O team and make sure that there are no additional unjustified costs-ongoing. (Competence: Internal Control, Providing Management Information).
23. Deliver 2007 P&O update, 2008 P&O and direct cost budget for various Drilling Teams - 1Q'2007. (Competence: Providing Management Information, Understanding Performance)
24. Be involved in Central Planning and Commercial exercise: LTP and AWP&B- 2Q-3Q'2007. (Competence: Providing Management Information, Internal Relationships)

Developing Others – Actions to transfer knowledge, coach, mentor, lead or support others.

25. Provide F&C support to Drilling and completion team also to thee Performance Team. Participate and contribute to Drilling weekly meetings as required- ongoing. (Competence: Taking the Lead (Core), Internal Relationships)
26. Issue paperwork for equipment and personnel call-off. (DR)
27. Liaison with Drilling, Contracts and Logistics Engineers on planned delivery and procurement timings.
28. With Drilling Engineers, prepare the PCC/CMC contract committee submissions according to selected strategy.
29. Support post contract administration including contract variations and amendments.
30. Provided Input to the various planning and performance processes, and Long Term Plan.
31. Provided support to Cost Engineer in the verification of all drilling and completion invoices against call-offs. Input into end-of-well cost reconciliation.
32. Management of logistics costs optimise balance of logistics spend vs. equipment rental and rig downtime.
33. Processed CSM - Drilling Material Control Department to ensure that equipment deliveries are processed within receipts system, in order to pay invoices in time.
34. Collated daily cost updates for inclusion on morning drilling report.
35. Work with various Drilling team members to ensure a good understanding of all the issues regarding Cost manager and the reporting of the Drilling numbers.
