Was employed by SKF as a maintenance and reliability consultant. This dual role covered a multitude of tasks with the maintenance part of the role involving carrying out Equipment Criticality assessments for assets rotating and stationary equipment. Root Cause Analysis on failures in line with client requests, defining the full scope of the problem and supplying a number of suitable solutions. Creation and revalidation of Planned Maintenance Routines for client equipment and review of performance of equipment with an asset and improvement plans. Within the Reliability role I was requested to carry out vibration data collection and analysis and lube oil analysis on a routine basis. Ad-hoc work included the carrying out of performance monitoring of pumps using ultrasonic flow meters. Thermo graphic surveys of rotating and stationary equipment was carried out and reported on. Vibration, lube oil and performance database creation was carried out both in the North Sea and abroad.

In this role I worked as part of an onshore support team responsible for driving the Turn-a-rounds on the Forties Platforms. I was responsible for making sure that the required resources were ordered and delivered in-line with targets, that vendors required for specialist tasks were brought in and understood there specific role during the shutdown and for ensuring all platform target were met.
