1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

Dear Sirs,
I have been employed as an electrical inspector for the last 5 years carrying out surveys, inspections and testing on installations to IEE standards.
In addition to these duties, over the last 2 years, I have been responsible for carrying out the on-site safety audits and risk assessments for British Gas PLC on their electrical service division in compliance with their company quality assurance process.
Recently I gained a NVQ level 4 introductory teaching qualification.
Prior to this I had 20 years electrical experience in the coal mining industry with 12 years being in a supervisory capacity.
I served for 5 years in the military as an electrical engineer in the Royal Navy being promoted to the rank of leading marine engineer.

I have been highly motivated throughout my career and feel that with my experience, positive attitude and communication skills I would be an asset to your company and would appreciate being considered for any suitable vacancies.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

2003 – Present: N.E.C.T.A. (National Electrical Certification and Training Alliance)
Electrical Inspector – Responsible for carrying out Inspections, Testing, Site Surveys and Risk Assessments. Provide certification and schematic / network drawings for Industrial, Commercial and Domestic environments to current IEE wiring regulations. Other duties include carrying out safety assessments on behalf of British Gas PLC for their electrical service division.

1995 – 2003: UK COAL PLC. (Selby Coalfield. Nth. Yorkshire)
Shift Charge Electrical Engineer - Responsible for the planning and implementation of HV and LV development installations underground to include Flameproof, Intrinsically safe, communications and environmental monitoring systems. I also deputised for the Colliery Unit Electrical Engineer in his absence.

1989 – 1995: THYSSEN GB LTD
Major mining contracting company. Promoted to Electrical Forman after 2 years as an underground craftsman electrician. Hands-on supervision of a team of underground installation and maintenance electricians.

1987 – 1989: BT ROLATRUC UK
Service Engineer - Nationally recognised electro-mechanical forklift truck manufacturer. Covered scheduled maintenance and breakdowns throughout Yorkshire region as required.

1982 – 1987: H.M. FORCES. ROYAL NAVY
Attained rank of Leading Marine Electrical Engineering Mechanic. Supervised Junior ranks within the department whilst serving on sea-going vessels and shore based Naval establishments in the UK and abroad. Active member of Fire & Emergency party.

1976 – 1982: NATIONAL COAL BOARD (Yorkshire Coalfield)
Fully indentured Electrical apprenticeship followed by appointment as Craftsman Electrician underground. Responsible for the Installation, Testing, Examination and maintenance of all electrical equipment.
