I have been employed as an electrical inspector for the last 5 years carrying out surveys, inspections and testing on installations to IEE standards.
In addition to these duties, over the last 2 years, I have been responsible for carrying out the on-site safety audits and risk assessments for British Gas PLC on their electrical service division in compliance with their company quality assurance process.
Recently I gained a NVQ level 4 introductory teaching qualification.
Prior to this I had 20 years electrical experience in the coal mining industry with 12 years being in a supervisory capacity.
I served for 5 years in the military as an electrical engineer in the Royal Navy being promoted to the rank of leading marine engineer.

Electrical Inspector – Responsible for carrying out Inspections, Testing, Site Surveys and Risk Assessments. Provide certification and schematic / network drawings for Industrial, Commercial and Domestic environments to current IEE wiring regulations. Other duties include carrying out safety assessments on behalf of British Gas PLC for their electrical service division.

Shift Charge Electrical Engineer - Responsible for the planning and implementation of HV and LV development installations underground to include Flameproof, Intrinsically safe, communications and environmental monitoring systems.
