CV/Resume Details
1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

To whom it may concern,
I am writing this letter in the interest, firstly so I can describe the kind of person I am at work and at home and secondly to show you that I am very determined to pursue a career in the Offshore Oil & Gas Industry.
I am thirty years old, fit, love a challenge and am not afraid of hard work. I live in Mandurah were I reside with my wife, I also have a gorgeous little 8 year old daughter who keeps me on my toes also. I am very family orientated and all that I do in life revolves around them. I have an older & younger sister and many sisters & brother in laws now to. My mother lives close by and I regretfully say my father has passed. Over the years I have always had a love for boats & cars, currently I am in the process of building a 1954 Holden FJ street machine this keeps me well occupied, I sometimes race the car at amateur drag racing events also. I eventually would like to get a boat as well because I love my fishing too and being in Mandurah it’s a sin not to have a boat.
I have been working all my life even as a young teenager, weather it be part time after school, or on the weekends after playing sport, I have had very strong morals early on to succeed and placed strong ethics on my work. I completed high school in 1993 were I held two part time jobs, I was offered an apprenticeship in the Marine industry as a Marine Technician which I loved and this kept me employed for eight years were I went from the stature of an Apprentice to that of Master Technician/Workshop Supervisor. I felt that I needed something new and challenging so my interests leaned to the mining industry.
I was hired initially as a relatively inexperienced Heavy Duty Technician by Henry Walker Eltin, as time passed my desire to learn and my general work ethic lead me to were I am today working for BGC Contracting as a Workshop Supervisor in charge of millions of dollars worth of equipment.
My journey in the mining industry so far has taken me to work within several different companies were from each one I have taken all their positive work practices and left behind anything I believed wasn’t useful to me. I have spent time working by myself out of my own Field Service Vehicle to working with up to 30 workers on a shutdown. I have been intrusted with the responsibility of Maintenance Superintendent on some sites across W.A also. I have learnt that there are many different types and races of people within the Australian workforce and as a supervisor have found all kinds of challengers, from language barriers to equal opportunity, I feel I have the tools to work with whoever needed to get the job done safely and correctly.
I have now found myself in a point in my life were I am ready to pursue a new path being within the Offshore Oil & Gas industry. This is something I am doing for myself and also my family. I have friends that have worked in the Offshore Oil & Gas industry for some time and their experiences they have shared with me excite me, not just for the type of work or the money but the rosters available are also good. I have worked away for eight years now going from 4 weeks on 1 week off down to my current roster of 2 weeks on 1 week off and the idea of something new and exciting along with a more family orientated roster really appeals to me and my family.
I have much to offer any company that is willing to give me an opportunity in the Offshore Oil & Gas industry, my mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, team building and supervisory skills are vast. I am computer literate and will always give 110%. I do acknowledge that I have not been offshore in this industry but I assure you that as my past history shows I am a very keen and a quick learner willing to take on any role or challenge you feel will suit me.
My current situation with BGC, as I hold a senior staff position requires me to give 1 months notice before leaving, this can be cut shorter if required, but I would like to do the right thing by the company if possible. I am prepared to work anywhere in the world as long as I am flown back to Perth for my R & R. I hope that this helps make your decision easier and I look forward to hearing from you , feel free to contact me at any time.

2. Work Experience - CV/Resume Part 2 [Mandatory]

OBJECTIVE: To gain employment within the Oil & Gas industry working offshore within Australian waters or overseas.

QUALIFICATIONS I am trade qualified as an Engineering Tradesperson in Marine Mechanics, this trade has exposed me to both the commercial and pleasure side of the Marine Industry. I was heavily involved in diagnosis, repair and maintenance of small and large vessels, repairing hydraulic systems, large diesel engines, electrical systems and the mechanical systems, also the complete fit out of vessels as well. After eight years I diversified from this industry and entered the mining industry as a Heavy Duty Plant Technician, I was exposed to and learned much about the safety systems implemented on mine sites, also the complex hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems on the heavy earth moving equipment I was maintaining. As I became more knowledgeable in this industry with my career dedication I was soon promoted to a workshop supervisor. I learnt great leadership skills and new how to plan and organise to get the jobs completed safely, correctly, on time & within a budget. I am a very dedicated worker and I pride myself on being particular and also asking the question if I don’t know how to do a task.
