 Mate on board a 100’ aluminum Catamaran Research Vessel The Walton Smith with controllable pitch and DP systems. Duties include boat handling during all aspects of science operations as well as docking, undocking, and transits. Supervises deck department in maintaining vessel, operates winches and cranes as required for operations and loading and unloading vessel.

November 2006 through May 2008 Kwajalein Range Services
 Mate on board Army Tugs Gulf Condor and Mystic. Barge operations within Kwajalein Lagoon and in the Pacific Ocean. Watch stander and helm duties during setting and breaking of tows, ocean and lagoon tows, and ship assists as well as docking and casting off docks. Navigation, ordering of supplies, helping to supervise deck crew of 3. Conducting of drills and other safety related tasks as required.
 Captain of 75’ LCM doing personnel runs to and from neighboring islands, cargo runs as needed, occasional small ship assists. In charge of boat handling and crew of 2, maintaining vessel as needed.
 Mate as needed aboard 1600 class and 2000 class LCU’s.
 Cross trained as captain aboard 20 meter Catamaran ferry with jet drives.

 Lookout and Helmsman on board the 200’ Survey Vessel Moana Wave during survey operations. Involved in maintaining interior and exterior of vessel. Small boat operator, fire team, DC team. Operator of small knuckle boom cranes. Line handling during cast on and off of docks.

 Duties as a seaman include vessel upkeep, interior and exterior projects, inventory, assisting bridge watch during underway operations. Also crane operator for a Nautilus fixed 80’ boom crane rated to 40 tons, with fast line and 4 part main block. Crane operations when loading and unloading gear at the dock and during operations offshore in regards to oil field construction and maintenance work, also ship to ship transfers of people and equipment as needed.  In charge of 2 other deckhands in the maintaining of the ship both interior and exterior. Chipping rust and painting the ship, cleaning the interior spaces, loading and unloading of stores, gear, operational gear, and securing of such gear for sea. Small boats coxswain during drills, emergencies and small boat operations. In charge of training new deckhands in aspects of ship life and operating deck machinery such as cranes and winches and frames. Relieving the duty officer during transits and following helm commands. Securing lines and casting off, operator of ships cranes and winches and frames. Working with the Chief Mate on organizing the projects for the ships crew, and keeping inventory and orders for the deck tools and machine shop. Marlinspike work and rigging for science operations.

Deckhand Jan 2002 until Dec 2002
 Working at maintaining the ship according to the Lead Deckhand and Chief Mates instructions working winches cranes and frames as needed for science operations. Interior sanitary duties. Line handling for docking, casting off, small boat transfers, and other duties as assigned.
