I am a Instrument and process controls technician with 29 years experience wanting to go back into the oilfield and work.
29 Years experience in the chemical, pulp / paper and petro chemical industries. I have worked both maintenance and construction as an I/E Technician. My electronic background has always been an asset to my ability to repair and troubleshoot control problems.
I have had training on the Honeywell TDC 3000 computer system. Some of the equipment I am familiar with is Foxboro IA DCS, Siemens PLC, Allen Bradley PLC’s and all types of instrumentation. Endresshauser, Rosemount, Fisher, Foxboro, Moore, Masonelian, Taylor, ECT… I can troubleshoot, calibrate and repair process instrumentation. Troubleshoot controls such as pneumatic instrumentation, electric motors, programmable logic controllers and distributed control systems.
I really enjoy being in control of a start up and commissioning group of technicians. Helping them to find solutions to problems encountered during the startup phase of a project is very rewarding for me.
I understand the necessity of studying and comprehending the process and its equipment, in order to understand the dynamics of the process and the controls used to produce the final product.
It is critical to understand the process controls, as implemented, in order to validate they are achieving the objectives of the design. I understand the necessity in gaining the confidence of the client in a commissioning
