Dear Sir or Madam
I’m Writing this letter I respect of attempting to gain employment offshore unfortunately at present I have no offshore experience but feel that my previous occupation would more then prepare me for anything that I may encounter,
I am actively seeking employment in the offshore oil and gas industry and I would prefer to start as a roustabout/deckhand but would gratefully accept an opportunity in any discipline or area and really feel that given the opportunity I would prove to be a valuable member of any team and would indeed enhance any work squad due to my commitment and attitude.
As you can see that by the CV attached that I have also served my time as a painter onshore which I also feel would be of benefit to the maintaining and upkeep of the rig.
I am available for interview for any appointments that, may arise in you vast and varied worldwide operations. I’m also available for immediate start.
Can I just take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself, I have served 12 and a half years in the army having served in many places around the globe and more often then not under pressure and in extremes of temperatures in often demanding environments, I have experienced working as a team and as an individual to achieve a common goal / target and am very flexible both in my approach to work and overcoming any hurdles that may present themselves, I ‘m proactive and forward thinking and can work under my own initiative to very good effect.
I have reached junior management status and have vast experience working under pressure and to time restraints.
I have recently completed my ( Green hand) course and my( BOSIET) offshore survival course I also have an in date UKOOA medical.

Left school in 1991 Worked on the bildings for 4 years serving my appreticeship painting and decorating joined the armed forcesin November 1995 i then served 12 years seven months and reached junior management status/ team/platoon leader am currently working for a dairy company but am very keen to have a career in the offshore oil and gas sector.
