CV/Resume Details

1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

I am looking for an entry level position that would help me to expand my knowledge and skills in the areas as described below. I am thorough, detailed in all aspects of my tasks and professional. I would like an opportunity to work with a company where I can advance and update my certifications, continuing in the engineering department. I started my time at sea in the Berring Sea, working on the factory trawlers out of Dutch harbor, Alaska. I did this for almost 7 years straight. I appreciate any considerations.

I have my merchant mariners document (MMD), which I received, from Paul Hall Maritime Center Harry Lundberg School of Seamanship in Piney Point, Maryland. The Document allows me a low-level security clearance. The following are certificate notes from the school:

Certificate of Achievement US Coast Guard Approved:
Crowd Management Course
This course satisfies the Crowd Management requirements of Paragraph 1 of Section A-V/3 of Seafarers' Training, Certification, and Watch keeping (STCW) Code for Passenger Ships Other Than Ro-Ro Passenger Ships; AND the Passenger Safety training requirements of Paragraph 3 of Section A-V/3 of the Seafarers' Training, Certification, and Watch keeping (STCW)
Code for Passenger Ships Other Than Ro-Ro Ships. June 9 2006
Basic Safety Personal Survival Techniques, Fire Prevention and Firefighting, Elementary First Aid, and Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities Course:
Demonstrated the minimum standard of competence to undertake the duties, tasks and responsibilities identified in Section VI/I Table A-VI/1-1, A-VI/1-2VI/1-3, A-VI/1-4 of the Seafarer's Training, Certification and Watch keeping Code.

Skills related to work experience:
*While working on the factory trawler in Dutch Harbor, Alaska, lived with a very diverse group of people from all over the world. Integrating myself while creating positive and professional relationships with fellow co-workers.
*Working in reforestation, a job that was my first out of high school was really the beginning of the fundamental foundation, which built a strong personal work ethic that has followed me throughout my work history. This particular obligation developed my character in ways that helped me to perform above expectations, and instilled a belief that is innate in my ability now to achieve what I have set out to do using goals as a motivation for accomplishments that are reached through productive time management.

*While fighting fires, this job allowed for situations to arise, which could put the safety of the team at risk. Everyone on the team was asked to perform the duties required while maintaining the security of other members using skills that involved quick decision making and safe conduct so the overall safety of the group was never compromised. Each person had to feel confident in my abilities to be able to perform in any emergency. Continually making intelligent decisions that involved quick thinking in taking action showed the kind of leadership and endurance that was needed to keep my teammates trust and proved to be the most productive way to work together.
