Employment ended due to redundancy, excellent letter of reference available on request. Job entailed the responsibilities for the running of the contract scaffolding side of the business. Including but not exclusive to:
• Supervising all works & ensuring H&S standards are always adhered to.
• Taking telephone & written enquires through to meeting potential clients, measurements & quote generation.
• Generating new business.
• Preparing Risk Assessments & Method Statements for every job.
• Delivering Tool Box Talks.
• Liaising with staff at all levels.
• Liaising with & dealing with day to day enquires from site mangers & contractors.

Scaffolding Coordinator, Cargill UK Aug 06 – Sep 07
Fixed term contract position but was employed for longer than initially contracted due to excellent performance. Reference available on request.
• Liaising with QS personnel, report to Site Manager & personnel from other
construction disciplines in order to prioritise scaffolds & progress the project more efficiently.
• Coordinate scaffolding requests between multiple contractors.
• Review proposed methods of access for safety, suitability and cost effectiveness, recommending improvements where appropriate.
• Carry out independent safety audits on access equipment and adherence to management systems.
• Assess adequacy of scaffold manning taking account of planned work and any likely unplanned modification work.
• Bench Marking performance. Ensuring Cargill UK were not financially penalised by the way of inflated prices, works not carried out, deficits in manpower, works with exaggerated measurements, works priced in the wrong category, unskilled workers booked as tradesmen & any other trick in the book.
• Closely supervising any contracting company who were a particular “problem” until they were meeting Cargill UK’s safety standards & targets at the agreed price.
• Maintain effective management and progress monitoring of the scaffolding contractors.
• Effective participation & communication in all meetings. Creation & presentation of accurate information.
Contracts Supervisor, UK Access Equipment Ltd, Jan 06 – Sep 07
The day to day running of the contract scaffolding side of the business.
Employment History 1987 – 2007:
1987 – 1988, Blands Scaffolding. Began work as a trainee scaffolder.
1988 – 1990, Lyndon’s Scaffolding. Continued learning the trade working on coal fired power stations. Achieved NVQ level 1 & 2 in Scaffolding. Left due to the contract I was working on coming to an end.
1990 – 1992, SYS Scaffolding. Acquired NVQ levels 3, 4 & 5 Scaffolding. Contracts included high rise flats, concrete false works, churches, multi storey car parks, scaffolding drawings (1 off jobs, e.g. high set church organs). Left due to the contract I was working on coming to an end.
1992 – 1998, Beadons. As a fully qualified scaffolder I began to assume foreman responsibilities. Contracts included: glass works furnaces, steel works, major road bridges, coke plants, coal mines maintenance, water treatment works, demolition.
1998 – 2005, SYS Scaffolding. Scaffolding foreman, assuming responsibility for on average, 30 scaffolders up to a maximum of 75. Attended & fully participated in site safety meetings, planning meetings, liaise with site agents & managers, planned work, ordered all materials, calculated materials, advised on billing, measured works. Contracts included: Petrochemical, chemical, coal fired power station, gas fired power stations, gas plants, large listed buildings (including churches), Railtrack, major road & canal bridges, sports stadiums, demolition projects.
