Serve as a prosecutor for military justice cases in the occurring aboard Marine Corps Air Sation Chery Point. Provide legal opinions for unit leaders on wide ranging areas such as ethics and utilization of base resources.
SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
• Conducted two courts martial.
• Drafted over 10 legal opinions for various unit leaders.
Judge Advocate – Al Anbar Province, Iraq – 2007-February 2008
Serve as the Lead Prosecutor for all military justice cases in the Al Anbar province. Provide legal services for units deployed in the province, reviewing 100+ investigations and supplying legal counsel to over 800 clients on various areas of the law. Conduct investigations in the field and prosecute cases within the military judicial system. Evaluate cases and advise executive management on proper courses of action. Counsel team members on legal issues and create documents to assist them. Facilitate meetings between U.S. forces and local Iraqi population to address/resolve issues.
SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
• Drafted 47 Wills, 30 Separation Agreements, and over 400 Powers of Attorney documents to support team members, providing sound legal advice to group of 1000 on wide range of legal topics.
• Recognized as key catalyst for the only Military Extra Territorial Jurisdiction Act prosecution in Iraq. Currently serving as Lead Military Counsel on the 2nd prosecution currently underway.
