Trial Counsel / Civil Law Officer – Cherry Point, NC – 2008
Serve as a prosecutor for military justice cases in the occurring aboard Marine Corps Air Sation Chery Point. Provide legal opinions for unit leaders on wide ranging areas such as ethics and utilization of base resources.
• Conducted two courts martial.
• Drafted over 10 legal opinions for various unit leaders.

Judge Advocate – Al Anbar Province, Iraq – 2007-February 2008
Serve as the Lead Prosecutor for all military justice cases in the Al Anbar province. Provide legal services for units deployed in the province, reviewing 100+ investigations and supplying legal counsel to over 800 clients on various areas of the law. Conduct investigations in the field and prosecute cases within the military judicial system. Evaluate cases and advise executive management on proper courses of action. Counsel team members on legal issues and create documents to assist them. Facilitate meetings between U.S. forces and local Iraqi population to address/resolve issues.
• Drafted 47 Wills, 30 Separation Agreements, and over 400 Powers of Attorney documents to support team members, providing sound legal advice to group of 1000 on wide range of legal topics.
• Recognized as key catalyst for the only Military Extra Territorial Jurisdiction Act prosecution in Iraq. Currently serving as Lead Military Counsel on the 2nd prosecution currently underway.
• Selected to meet personally with the local Iraqi people in order to evaluate claims for damages against coalition forces and negotiate settlement payments.
• Consulted with numerous senior-level and management personnel throughout the Al Anbar province on military justice issues, resulting in improved decision-making and problem resolutions.
Legal Assistance Attorney – Cherry Point, NC – 2007
Oversaw and mentored new junior Marines within the Legal Assistance office, drafting entry-level exams for new lawyers joining the unit and providing legal advice on broad range of topics. Conducted pre-deployment briefings for units deploying from Cherry Point
• Provided sound legal advice to over 400 service members and their families on broad areas of the law, such as debt collection, identity theft, estate planning, divorce and child support, and immigration processing.
• Strengthened team capabilities and preparedness by creating pre-deployment training package; developed entry-level examinations for Judge Advocates on federal- and state-specific areas of the law.

Managed all functions within the department and counseled/mentored junior team members. Oversaw processing of separation packages for 2nd Marine unit and USMC Air Station. Conducted administration separation boards.
