: 01). Presently I am working as a Shipping & Logistics Manager in Everest Industrial Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, It is an UAE collaboration positioned at Katunayake Export Processing Zone Since February 2007
During the period my duties & responsibilities are: -
• Over-all management of the Shipping Department from customs clearance to storage, from physical distribution to material handling, from transportation to packaging, the entire gamut of logistics-related services which outsourced, saving companies wastage of resources.
• All Import, Export & Re-Export activities & foresee, assume and control the optimal flow of raw materials, materials in the course of transformation and of finished product, this from its starting point to its point of utilization.
• Take decisions & give instructions to handle all Cross-trade activities to the staff.
• Optimal solutions through combinations of fleet size, route planning, frequency of deliveries ,depots and suppliers locations & placing Containers as per the requirements
• Co-ordinating with the Shipping Companies and the Transporting Companies in configuring transportation facilities – road, rail, sea or air – in a way that raw materials, components and sub-assemblies (the components of inbound logistics) as well as the finished products (out bound logistics) are delivered at the right place, time and in the quantity required at least time and cost.
• Negotiating with the Shipping Companies and Transporting Companies for better rates, distribution activities, including storage and transport, work best focus on efficiently to clients, not just on moving them from place to place. Storage is secure, clean and organized to reduce the cost of holding inventory. Regular & complete transport coverage of all facilities in the supply chain.
• Arranging Marine/road/rail Insurance for the Shipments, communications regarding distribution, conditioning and packaging.
• Negotiates, prepares and organizes purchase & Sales Contract’s by aiming at the best value of for the money and resolve real problems as soon as possible.
• Cheques signing on behalf of the company
• Ability to frame & pass BOI/Customs bill of entries for the cargo clearances
• Touch with Operation Division at SLPA for export deadlines
• Experience in CBCU (PAMU) division
02). Three years experience as a Wharf Assistant in Nv Manufacturing (Pvt) Ltd, (Large UK collaboration in Garment Industry – BOI Project) established in the Katunayake Free Trade Zone. (1998 October – 2001 September)
During the period my duties & responsibilities were: -
• Import & Export documentation with BOI procedures in the apparel industry.
• Knowledge of All BOI procedures of Inland Operations – Sub Contracts
