1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

Dear Sir/Madam

I am writing to express my interest in securing employment with Oil Offshore Marine. As you will see, I come to you with a background that you will find unique and distinctive among your typical applicants. Over the past 18 years, I have established myself as a highly competent and experience mechanically minded professional, permanently employed as project manager, promoted through the ranks with the biggest Ship Repair & Marine Engineering Company on the South and West coasts of Africa. While rewarding, I am ready for new challenges and opportunities. I have identified the Oil & Gas Industry as one that would be most fulfilling to me as a result of almost two decades of direct involvement. I am interested in a position that would allow me to combine my project management skills and hands on qualifications in a preventative maintenance or break down maintenance environment in way of planning, supervising or even on the job role.

While it may not be immediately obvious, let me assure you that my back ground has prepared me with qualifications that are ideally suited to the offshore maintenance sector. With the fast growing and ever expanding Oil & Gas industry and the shortage of competent personal, I am convinced that I will make a positively strong contribution. My enclosed resume will prove my accomplishments achieved through hard work, perseverance, loyalty, leadership and in depth technical knowledge of mechanical, rotary and propulsion equipment.

On my last major project I’ve had the pleasure of working with RBGLtd during their recent SEDCO 709 Life Enhancement Project in Cape Town, South Africa. RBG represented their client Transocean and my current employer was contracted in by RBGLtd as an extension of their operations. I was assigned to the project to look after all mechanical works, reporting to RBG Project Manager and working closely with Transocean’s project team. It was an exciting and absolute enlightening experience to work with such a dynamic organization. On the project my duties and responsibilities were to follow and comply with RBG’s standard maintenance and repair procedures. Performing works to the respective class society’s rules & regulations. Forming work teams and informing them of their duties and responsibilities. Encouraging and maintaining the highest level of safety through daily safety talks and utilization of the correct PPE for the specific work area or activity. Reporting on all incidents and non-conformances. Ensuring permit to work system is followed. Compiling and completing quality data packs in compliance with RBG’s standards.

The qualifications briefly outlined above are representative of the value I offer Oil Offshore Marine. Combined with rare levels of enthusiasm, commitment and drive, I am confident that I would quickly become a contributing team member. Should you agree, I would welcome the change for an interview to discuss how my skills and qualification will benefit Oil Offshore Marine.

I thank you for the interest shown in receiving this letter.
