CV/Resume Details

1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory]

I am an extremely motivated and ambitious individual with a sound work ethic and passion for Occupational Health and Safety. Having completed my Bachelor of Science (Health and Safety), I now plan to further develop my skills by gaining employment within the offshore oil and gas industry. My family has strong ties to the oil and gas industry with three generations of experience, starting with my grandfather, father and now brother who have all been commercial divers.

I have a proven track record for introducing innovative ideas and ‘thinking outside the square’. I am able to make definite decisions, formulate an action plan and initiate an appropriate response. I constantly aim to build and consolidate my knowledge, skills and embrace any opportunities to learn.

My university studies have provided me with valuable skills that are transferable to professional employment such as teamwork, public speaking, preparation of reports, research, and meeting deadlines. I have a strong drive for success and set high standards in all my work. These attributes have enabled me to achieve excellent grades throughout my university education, most recently achieving high distinctions for Hazard Recognition and Risk Assessment as well as Health and Safety Technology.

I have developed excellent interpersonal and written communication skills through a broad range of activities both at university and whilst gainfully employed. I also possess effective time-management and organisational skills, the ability to excel under pressure, and a high personal work ethic. The success and duration of the relationship with my previous employers and management shows that I am loyal, dedicated, and can work effectively as part of a team and individually on a daily basis to meet team goals, with an emphasis on producing consistently high standards of effective leadership and teamwork.

As you will see from my attached curriculum vitae I have completed my cold water BOSIET training and complemented this with both Dogging and Rigging certificates of competency, with the view of making myself more eligible in the industry.

Given the above I now plan to build a successful and enduring career in a health and safety capacity within the offshore oil and gas industry. I can assure any organisation that provides me the opportunity to embark on my career will in exchange receive a valuable asset and loyal employee.
