I have experience of wireline operations on Land rig, Heli rig, Offshore Platform, Swamp barge, crane barge and Drill ships.
Often in very remote areas up to 3000 Km from base. The services performed included all the normal open hole logging as well as formation testing. In cased hole I have run Baker wireline plug setting tool and many types of shaped charge perforating.

The company is one of the largest providers of downhole oil well analytical services to the petrochem industry world wide.
Completed a 4 month training course in Sumatra that covered the maintenance of nuclear detectors, the storage of nuclear sources and dose monitoring, the use, priming and detonation of high explosives, and the repair of instrumentation systems that could supply data for some 70 applications. Subsequently worked on projects with Esso and Elf in Australia, BP in New Guinea and Total Oil in Borneo.
Client’s annual fees for the service were c£2m and therefore the need to perform efficiently and accurately was paramount. Operated in isolated areas with responsibility for motivating a small team to ensure that clients were totally satisfied that the objectives of contracts were achieved within agreed deadlines.

1980-81 Position: Project Engineer - Management Staff Grade
Based at the Technical Centre in Derby initial responsibility was for the design and build of a prototype Magnetic Tram, a project that was started in 1975.
Designed swept frequency filters for controlling the suspension.
Designed and tested software and hardware to interface to a magnetic card reader using Z80 assembly language.
Completed design modifications to an inverter for the magnetic drives for the
magnetic levitation vehicle.
Designed electromagnets for the magnetic levitation vehicle.
Other duties involved PCB design, supervising junior engineers and liaison with suppliers. Subsequently worked on hardware and software design for a new business system project for the Parcels Offices.
