Job Functions as a PIM / PAS:
􀂾 The Project Information Manager (PIM) reports to Project Manager. The PIM is responsible for the
following general project automation activities:
♦ Acquisition, Distribution, Control and Archiving of all electronic information provided to or developed
by the project. Provide Automation leadership and develop office automation strategy based on
office business needs and in conformance with the overall global automation strategy and
objectives.
♦ Integrate the automation systems of the various engineering offices, construction site and other
entities.
♦ Interface with Project Management for project scope, schedule, and staffing.
♦ Provide budgetary estimates for all project and construction site automation requirements (with the
exception of discipline-specific software).
♦ Identify contractual requirements and terms as they pertain to automation. Define project
automation lifecycle requirements.
♦ Identify and manage technical support for the project and construction site’s needs (skills and
manpower assessment, team training, resource contacts and other resource requirements).
♦ Provide applicable information from other projects regarding successful implementation of new
technology (benefits and risks involved).
♦ Report monthly progress to the Project and Company project team.
♦ Work with project management to establish closeout and retention procedures.
♦ Develop, maintain and update Automation Plan of Project Execution Plan and Project Procedures
Manual.
♦ Develop and maintain Workshare standards, procedures between my Fluor office and other Fluor
International offices.
♦ Establish procedures to collect Lessons Learned and Work Process Improvement on Automation
related issues.
♦ Develop Automation Quality Plan which will identify the minimum audit schedule
for the critical automation systems.
♦ In cooperation with the quality lead establish a schedule for, and initiate quality audits, on the entire
system (LAN, WAN, Hardware and Software) to ensure adherence to project rules and procedures.

􀂾 The Project Information Manager’s responsibilities regarding the Local Area Network (LAN) include:
♦ Determine the physical systems (hardware) that will be required such as desktop computers,
printers, servers, and other networking equipment.
♦ Make recommendations concerning the logical systems (software) to be used at all locations.
♦ Manage software licensing.
♦ Define network directory system for file storage and user access levels.
♦ Identify system integration issues.

􀂾 The Project Information Manager’s responsibilities regarding the Wide Area Network (WAN) include:
♦ Determine necessary electronic interfaces between the construction site, the home office, and
company entities (i.e. WAN, electronic transfers, telecommunications, etc.). Leverage, where
possible, off permanent facility plans.
♦ Coordinate, schedule, and manage WAN implementation.
♦ Ensure work procedures are established for electronic transfers and telecommunications.
♦ Administer rights and provide technical support for Citrix based applications like INtools, Material
Manager, Projects On Line (Document Control) etc.

􀂾 The Project Automation Specialist (PAS) is responsible for the following Project Automation activities:
♦ Initiate and Conduct Project PDS/CAD Kickoff meeting.
♦ Based on the results of the Project PDS/CAD Kickoff Meeting, and using the PDS/CAD Base Case
Project Execution Plan as a model, develop, update and maintain the project specific PDS/CAD
Execution Plan manual.
♦ Ensure that all Client PDS/CAD requirements are incorporated into the Project PDS/CAD Execution
Plan.
♦ Ensure that all Project Set-up activities are completed, as defined in the PDS/CAD Coordinator
Activity Checklist. This will require close coordination with the discipline leads and with CIE
(Computer Integrated Engineering).
♦ Establish and coordinate the use of project specific drawing border.
♦ Setting up scheduled archival/retrieval, PDS access control, RDB updates and data transfer
schedules with Prime offices.
♦ Daily PDS Model / Data replication across the workshare offices
♦ End-User support and trouble-shooting in Intergraph PDS, MicroStation, AutoCAD, SPPID, INtools
and other in-house utilities and engineering applications.
♦ Interfacing with Intergraph and external offices for problem tracking and resolution.
♦ Ensuring smooth project data backup as well as PDS Archival process and RIS dumps
♦ Perform Interference Detection Process functions.
♦ Perform Design Review Process functions.
♦ MTO Extraction from PDS, Piping Utilities setup, maintenance and support.
♦ Ensure that all Project Set-up / Close out activities are completed. This will require close
coordination with the discipline leads and Discipline Application Specialists.
♦ In cooperation with the quality lead establish a schedule for, and initiate quality audits, on the entire
project PDS/CAD process to ensure adherence to project rules and procedures.

ROLTA India Limited is an ISO 9001 Intergraph Partner in India, certified provider of
Internet Services, Intergraph and other software’s, hardware, training and engineering/GIS related services
headquartered in Mumbai, India.
Responsibilities Handled:
• Project Management and Execution in PDS, SmartPlantPID (SPPID), SmartPlant Instrumentation
(SPI)
• PDS / SPPID / SPI projects and other software’s administration
• Database administration activities like designing, maintenance, and backups.

2. M/s NOVA Chemicals Legacy Data Migration in INTOOLS from PDS IDM.
(Oct’03 – Feb’04)
Activities accomplished for the above said project are as follows:
• Project Management
• Migration of IDM database to INtools.
• Extracting the data from PDS IDM after establishing relation ships between the tables and then
writing SQL queries for data archival.
• Importing the Instrument Index of IDM database into Instrument Index of INTOOLS, using INtools
Import Utility. Specification Sheet Customization.
• Hook-up Templates Customization and Hook-up Drawing generation.
• Importing Specification Database from IDM Database into INtools, using INtools Import Utility.
• QC and QA of Deliverables viz. Intools Index and Specification Database as well as Hook-up
drawings.
