| 1. Summary (Cover Letter) - CV/Resume Part 1 [Mandatory] |
Dear to whom it may concern:
I am writing to explore possible career opportunities in the oil and gas industry. Currently, I am in Fourth year Electrical Engineering at the University of Victoria, pending graduation in August 2008. I have completed an Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering with a ‘B’ overall average from Kwantlan University, BC, and currently I am looking for full time international engineering positions .
While at UVIC, I worked with a team to design, build and present a project that tested our engineering skills. Our project was called the “Driving Habit Recorder”. A compact device, which can be, mounted on any automobile and effectively measure acceleration, speed, and the distance to cars in front and to the rear. This data is then gathered within the unit, and “driving points” are calculated and logged to indicate good or bad driving habits. Habits such as tail gating and cutting off other drivers, along with speed, are all taken into account when recording points.
With my strong technical background, I believe I have a great deal to contribute to the industry. I have taken courses in industrial instrumentation, hydraulics, electrical machines and electronics, manufacturing, data networking, and DSPs. In my last position at VSM Medtech, Port Coquitlam, BC, as an Electronics Technologist, I gained experience in testing and troubleshooting sensitive and discreet electronic devices for medical equipment. I also analyzed and recorded test data and results.
I gained experience in working in teams as well as independently and under minimal supervision. I have a reputation of getting things done while focusing on achieving goals and meeting deadlines. I have always satisfied my previous managers in terms of productivity and efficiency.
I would be delighted to meet with you at your earliest convenience and discuss my qualifications further. Please take a moment to consider my enclosed resume. I am also flexible with relocation and traveling.
