• Responsible for buying activities for assigned commodities or projects, this includes technical and non-technical resources for construction, utilities (electric and water supply) and marine operations.
• Tasks include verbal and written communication of material requirements to suppliers.
• Negotiation of price, delivery and other terms with suppliers and awarding of purchase orders for project or overhead materials.
• Completes required Deltek Costpoint BMS data entry to generate computerized requisitions and purchase orders.
• Monthly reconciliation of credit card transactions using the PCard System.
• Resolves problems and conflicts on assigned purchased materials through interface with BRSC or supplier personnel. This involves checking of materials as discussed or to be discussed with suppliers.
• Priorities workload in accordance with project schedule requirements and completes tasks to meet deadlines.
• Responsible for generating cost savings in accordance with corporate goals.
• Assists freight forwarder in Jacksonville, Fl for material value identification for custom clearance.
• Improves supplier based on assigned commodities through market testing and knowledge.
• Expediting of orders through phone using “2-ears and 1-mouth theory”, e-mail and facsimile.
• Maintain regular contact with all suppliers in order to ensure smooth product flow and to resolve all shipping errors, invoice discrepancies and other issues in a timely manner.
• Keep & maintain accurate records. This includes but is not limited to purchase orders, customer inquiries, supplier files, open order reports, requests for return of merchandise, invoices, etc.
• Continuously challenge and improve the processes. Other related duties, as assigned.
